Good afternoon. I have been talking to course participants about how to find out about the casualties medical needs during the secondary survey. Most knew about alert braclets and some had their own medical issues such as allergies asthma.
Some knew about ICE (in case of emergency). Mobile phone can provide so much information. Recently I was involved in an incident and we looked on the medical alert on phone but there was no information. We got her husbands mobile off her friend but it was only when we rang him that we found out about her antibiotic allergy.
It's easy to set up and it means emergency support can access medical info and next if kin on phone even when locked.
All phone are different but it's easy to find you phone on Google or YouTube.
In setting you will see something like below. Here you record any medical information and who are you ICE. I have husband and sons on mine. I have no medical issues but even saying non rather then not filling in the box helps.
One set up to access info on a phone turn phone onto password screen touch emergency number but instead of dialing 999 you click on medical and info will be there to help you support a casualty before the professionals arrives.
Do it now and spread the word with friends and families.
