Their understanding extends beyond the diagnosis – they recognise the impact dementia has on the whole family and are there to offer guidance, reassurance and practical support every step of the way.

In the past week we have had 143 new enquiries and referrals to support Veterans living with Dementia and their families. 96 were responded to with 48 hours and are now part of our growing caseload. The remainder are being completed this weekend.

The point of this post is not to boast about the success of our services, or marking 18 months of our work.

But to highlight that 70% of those who contacted us this week had fallen through the growing gap that happens after diagnosis. Some have had no support for 18 months.

They are grateful that our team is now not just a service but a new friend.
