What depleted you most this month?

And what actually restored you?

I asked myself that this July.

The answer wasn't the things I'd planned. In fact, the usual things that restore me like my yoga practice, are changing.

I found myself feeling restored by other things: a smile from my nephew, a class that was just for me, an honest conversation.

New issue of my newslettter is live, on the first harvest and taking stock of what actually grew this summer, rather than what the plan said would.

Something I don’t hear enough people in this space say honestly:

Some days I don’t want to practise. Some mornings I wake up and my body is complaining and the last thing I want to do is get on the mat.

And some of those days, I do it anyway — gently, differently from the plan.

And some of those days, I don’t. I make tea. I sit. I let that be enough.

I’m sharing this because there’s a version of wellness content that makes you feel like you’re failing because you’re not consistent every single day.

That’s not what I’m about.

What I’m about is learning to read what your body actually needs — and responding to that, rather than a plan.

Full moon newsletter goes out this week.

FREE ONLINE YOGA Class this July (28th, 5:15pm BST but recording available)

Why? Because I am genuinely interested in welcoming people to my online community who:

- want a practice from the privacy and comfort of their own home with accountability (it's hard to show up to a class from home!)

- who are looking for a steady practice that takes into consideration daily changing energy levels and injuries

- who want to build strength and flexibility in a calm and consistent environment, with clarity and depth

Suitable for those returning from injuries or fatigue.

And sometimes you just need to test something out before committing. I get it.

So, if you'd like to attend, follow the link below and use the code FIRST28 on checkout.

Why is my body never the same two days running?

That's the question this new moon issue is about — and what I stopped calling a failure once I started asking it properly, and giving my body what it actually needed.

Read it here:

What I stopped calling a failure, and started calling information

Not all days are perfect.

In fact, none of them probably are.

There’s still tomorrow.

*Informational post only*. If you’re feeling unwell in this weather, please consult your GP guidelines and seek medical support.

Sitali pranayama is a breathing practice that has been used in yoga for centuries to cool the body from the inside, and there are some known benefits. As you inhale slowly through a curled tongue (or parted teeth), the air is cooled through evaporation before it enters the body, gradually lowering your core temperature and calming the nervous system at the same time.

Two minutes. No mat required. You can do it at your desk, in the garden, in the car.

Here’s how I’ve been practicing it at home and in classes recently:

Curling the sides tongue into a tube and inhaling slowly through the mouth, feeling the cool air move in. Closing the mouth and exhaling slowly through the nose.

FUN FACT! Not everyone can curl their tongue, it’s genetic. For that there is Sitkari breath which is done by parting the lips slightly and inhaling over the teeth, exhaling normally through the nose.

If you have asthma, low blood pressure, or a respiratory condition, and considering exploring something like this, speak to your GP about it first.

The heat isn’t just uncomfortable. It’s genuinely stressful — on the nervous system, on sleep, on the ability to think straight.

Restorative yoga is one of the most effective natural responses to this. Supported postures and slow breathing activate the parasympathetic nervous system, the state in which your body can actually regulate its own temperature.

Less effort. More ease. Exactly what this weather is asking for.

I’m teaching tonight — details in bio if you want to come. 🌿

Once a month, an evening just to rest (from next month, twice a month!).

Restorative Yoga comes to Barrowford tonight, 7:15–8:15pm at Pendle Wellbeing Hub — long-held, gentle postures and unhurried breath to let tension unwind and the mind settle.

A simple place to pause and return to a steadier rhythm.
