Received some wonderful feedback today, these lovely comments are very much appreciated and so great to hear that what I always strive for has been achieved.

'Just wanted to send an enormous thank you from all the family for mum’s funeral on Friday. When we met up with you, we must have bombarded you with so much information and you transformed all our babble into a wonderful, memorable, moving and funny service. If mum could have been with us she would have loved it, you captured her perfectly.'

Ever since I started this job I’ve thought how lovely it would be to sit in the garden working in the sunshine. However it has always been too cold, too windy, too wet or too hot! But today it’s perfect and I have achieved it! With the help of my ever present canine companion obviously.

Back from a lovely holiday and straight back to work; two services yesterday, both very well received and I'm touched as always when someone takes the time to put their thanks in writing.

'Julie everyone has mentioned how lovely mums service was today. Thank you very much for your care and attention, it certainly made a difficult day a little easier.'

My very first funeral was on 4th April 2025. Today I completed my 50th! A year ago I had no idea if my career change would be successful but I’m so glad I took that leap of faith. Thank you to everyone who has helped and trusted me along the way, it’s a great job, and a wonderful profession to be a part of. I’ve met so many wonderful people it’s been amazing. Let’s hope my second year will be as successful as the first 🤞.

Busy week, 3 out of 4 services completed so far and received this wonderful feedback from a lovely funeral director.

‘Sincere thanks and appreciation for the great teamwork, communication, kindness and professionalism.’

Spreading my wings to new venues. Greenacres in Hindhead recently for a memorial service and burial of ashes in a really beautiful setting and back up the A3 yesterday to Guildford Crematorium which is quite big and very nice and the staff were so incredibly friendly and helpful. And in a couple of weeks I’m off to Aldershot Crematorium, racking up the miles but happy to be getting the work.

Well as we get into the new year the 'firsts' keep coming. Worked for a few new Funeral Directors which has been very nice indeed. Had the first 'three funeral day', and the first motorbike and sidecar hearse! Still waiting for a horse drawn funeral...but no doubt will get one eventually.

Happy New Year.
Back at it with a busy week to start the year. Not quite Four Weddings and a Funeral, but four funerals and three family meetings! Travelled lots of miles and met some lovely people, looking forward to a restful weekend!

Well today was the last funeral for me of 2025, what a year. This time last year I had no idea that I would have made this career change. But how glad I am that I did.

From a fabulous training course in February to my very first service in April, then giving up my job in August to focus solely on being a celebrant, it’s been a busy but very rewarding year.

Thank you to all the funeral directors who have had faith in me, and to the families who have entrusted me to send their loved ones on their final journey. It’s been an honour.

It’s been touching that friends have asked for me specifically to take services for their relatives.

I wish you all a very merry and peaceful Christmas and a happy new year, I will definitely be thinking of all your loved ones who are no longer here this festive season.
