Meet Emily, local youth athlete taking county sport by storm and the newest addition to our sponsored athlete roster! Here's a little about her:

'I'm Emily, 12 year old athlete. I have grown up doing sport and love the challenge it gives me. I cycle, swim, suef life save, play hockey, netball and many other sports (I have just taken up Nordic Skiing) but my main sport is running.

I recently placed in the top hundreds of girls at the National Schools Cross Country in Liverpool and the National Intercounties in Nottingham. I loved the experience of competing at a National level against the best athletes in my age category.

In future, I dream of being an Olympian. I look up to many athletes including .hodgkinson and and dream of being a star like them. I know that is only possible with hard work, dedication and belief.

Swimming is where I feel most at home and it is great cross-training for my other sports. It aids my recovery, builds my aerobic capacity, and improves my speed in the water which is extremely beneficial for surf life saving.

St Michaels have sponsored me with a place to train and swim, and I am so grateful that I can enhance my training and build my strength and endurance so close to home'.

THIS CREW

We've been training together every Tuesday for a year now, and when you come across a group of people just willing to bury themselves every single week just for marginal gains, it's a special thing.

This year started with aerobic capacity development into a long threshold block, in effort to take on the workout that we completed to tonight:

5km run
5km row
10 mile bike

Completing this is one thing, but the aim was to do it as fast as possible, and every single person completed this in sub 90 minutes. The fitness that that requires is absolutely phenomenal, and to do it with such tenacity is unbelievable.

We knew our community of members was special, and this kind of team mentality is the whole point of what we do at the club ❤️

Meet Ollie Brown, one of our newest sponsored youth athletes. We'll be spotlighting his journey and supporting him with a space to train. Here's his story-

'Ollie is 16 years old and started playing rubgy at six years old. He joined playing tag. He then progressed onto contact and today is playing for Falmouth U16s. 18 months ago, he was successful in a trial for and is currently part of their Player Development Group.

Last year he trialled for the regional team, South West Saxons, made their U18s team and played in the Junior Nationals Touch Rugby Tournament, where the SW Saxons came third; the team's best ever performance. Here he was spotted and selected to be part of the England Touch Youth Academy for 2026. He has since been attending weekend training camps in London and Warwickshire once a month and is working towards potential selection for the team that was play in the European Youth Touch Championships in August, competing against an expected 45 teams from countries across Europe and further afield.

Ollie is thankful to St Michaels Resort for their sponsorship and support as he prepares for the next stage of his rugby journey.'

Wondering where Kat has been disappearing off to? She's been up to some incredible stuff! Here's an update from her:

In November I was delighted to find out I had successfully been accepted onto the ‘UEFA B Prep Programme’ run by The Powerhouse Project.

I want to progress my football coaching, a passion of mine. The course is for female coaches - a unique coaching experience that is designed to leave a legacy in football through its participants.

The course is run in blocks where I travel to Chelsea, Tottenham and Brighton among others. We take part in coaching session’s, learn from inspirational females within the game and leave feeling confident in our ability and inspired to put what we have learnt into action.

"We started The Powerhouse Project to inspire and empower women and girls to get involved in sport. We want to create a community of Powerhouses who go on to change the face of sport."
