I’ve recently been re-evaluating my relationship with social media in terms of my business.

Early on when I launched, it was a great way for me to spread awareness and say, “hey I’m here!!”. Then over time I feel like I got a little lost - focusing on the number of views, the algorithm, strategy, refining my words so they were “perfect”, and posting multiple times a week. Needless to say, it’s exhausting.

I recently started to take a step back and think, what do I want from social media in terms of my business? It’s not to get a lot of followers or views. Instead it’s to build trust, show people what I do, and keep connected.

So with that in mind, I’m probably not gonna create posts as consistently as before, and will probably be a lot more messy. I’ll still pop on my stories so you can see what I get up to, but I’m making a more concerted effort to be present and not fixated on the social media hamster wheel.

So if you’ve gotten all the way to the end of this caption, well done and thank you for listening to my Ted talk 😆

With love,
❤️ Alyssa

✨ Last Outdoor Yoga Sessions for Summer 2026 ✨

Now that we are settling into August, I’m updating my outdoor yoga schedule to start scaling back and preparing for what’s next.

Tuesday evening yoga has now finished and we have just 3 remaining Saturday morning flow sessions, so if you’ve been quietly thinking about joining- now is the time ☺️

Don’t worry though, you can still catch me indoors at VWell on Saturdays at 10:30am

Some people love them, some people hate them- which category do you fall under ?👀

✨ You don’t have to lie perfectly still during your massage ✨

This is your time, and I’m here to help you get more comfortable.

Need to wiggle? Need to adjust position? All of this is ok, and in fact, encouraged. I don’t mind at all ☺️

Speaking from my own experience, it’s challenging for me to lie face down for long periods of time without my back acting up, so I always appreciate when I have a massage therapist who creates a supportive and permissible environment where I can listen to my body and move when I need to move.

With this in mind, I aim to create this for my clients- a space where you can move if you need to ♥️

Many of us spend hours at a desk or hunched over our phones, and it can leave us with rounded shoulders, a stiff upper back, and tension creeping into the neck.

That’s where Sphinx Pose comes in — it’s one of my favourite poses for desk workers because it’s a gentle backbend that opens the chest, encourages movement through the upper spine, and invites your body to move in the opposite direction to the way it’s been sitting all day.

To come into the pose, lie on your belly and place your elbows directly beneath your shoulders, with your forearms resting on the floor. Gently press into your forearms as you lift your chest, keeping your shoulders soft and your neck long.

As you settle into the pose, the muscles between your shoulder blades and along your back gently engage, helping to strengthen the postural muscles that support you throughout the day. At the same time, your chest and the front of your body receive a gentle stretch, easing that familiar feeling of being collapsed over a keyboard.

Stay here for 1–3 minutes, breathing slowly and steadily. There’s no need to force a deep stretch — instead, allow gravity, stillness, and your breath to gradually invite your body to soften into the pose. Sometimes the most nourishing stretches come not from pushing further, but from giving your body the time and space to let go.

Have you tried Sphinx Pose before? Let me know how it feels for you. 💚
