Always learning always evolving, so I can offer the best possible therapies to my customers.
Oncology massage is a specialised, adapted form of massage therapy designed to safely meet the unique physical and emotional needs of individuals living with cancer. Unlike traditional deep-tissue massage, it uses highly customised, gentle touch to accommodate cancer treatments and or surgical sites.
Modified Pressure: Using a much lighter touch to avoid any discomfort or potential bruising particularly if a client has low blood platelet levels or is very sensitive to touch or pain.
Positioning: Sessions are adjusted to you comfortable around medical devices, dynamic ports, or healing surgical sites.
Contraindication Awareness: I know exactly which areas to avoid, such as active radiation sites, tumours, or limbs at risk for lymphoedema.
As with all my therapies it’s Personalised and Adapted to meet your own needs. Every treatment is changed based on whether you are newly diagnosed, undergoing chemotherapy, or in long-term recovery.
Documented Benefits
While it is not a treatment for cancer, clinical studies from leading institutions
show that oncology massage significantly improves quality of life.
It benefits
* Pain Management: Eases muscle tension and neuropathy pain without harsh pressure.
* Anxiety and Stress Reduction: Stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system to promote deep relaxation.
* Alleviating Side Effects: Helps reduce the severity of treatment-induced nausea, fatigue, and drowsiness.
* Improved Sleep: Promotes better rest by calming a hyper-aroused nervous system.
* Emotional Support: Restores a sense of dignity and comforting, non-clinical touch during a stressful medical journey.
For your safety, always consult your primary oncology team to get medical clearance before booking a session.
The techniques used in Oncology massage are also beneficial for other medical conditions such as fibromyalgia, MS, chronic fatigue syndrome and more.
