🍫✨ A Sweet Surprise for World Chocolate Day! ✨🍫
Yesterday, we celebrated World Chocolate Day with a little help from some very special visitors! 🤠🚀
Mascot's Delight spread smiles across the hospital, with Woody and Buzz Lightyear making appearances as they delivered delicious chocolates to patients, families and staff on:
🏥 Ward 8
🏥 PAU
🏥 Day Case Unit
🏥 Children's Clinic
🏥 Children's ED
From "To infinity and beyond!" to sweet chocolate treats, our Toy Story duo brought plenty of joy, laughter and happy faces wherever they went.
A huge thank you to everyone who helped make the day so special and to all our wonderful teams who continue to provide outstanding care every day. 💙

🌟 A Huge Thank You to Brinscall Primary School!

We were delighted to welcome pupils and staff from Brinscall Primary School to visit the newly redecorated Orange Bay on Ward 8 and see the incredible difference their fundraising has made.

Through their determination, creativity and numerous cupcake sales, the children raised funds to sponsor the redevelopment of this special space. Supported by Lancashire Hospitals Children's Charity, their efforts have helped create a brighter, more welcoming environment for children and families using our services.

During their visit, the children also showed incredible kindness by making and distributing get well cards to our patients, bringing lots of smiles to the ward. They also created Happy National Children's Nurses Day cards for our nursing staff, who were touched by the thoughtful gesture and appreciation shown by the pupils.

Our nursing students kindly spent time role-playing with the children, helping them experience what it might be like to work in healthcare – (the children all mysteriously chose to have their ‘writing’ hands bandaged!) The children thoroughly enjoyed the activities and learning through play.

A special thank you also goes to Dr Kandasamy, who generously shared her knowledge and skills with the children, inspiring them and answering their questions about working in healthcare.

It was wonderful to show the children the finished bay and celebrate the impact of their efforts. Seeing their excitement and pride in what they have achieved was truly inspiring.
