🌊 Come and discover the great Wild Swims in the Scottish Borders...

When people think of Scotland, their minds often wander to the Highlands, Skye or Glencoe.

But tucked away in the south lies a landscape that inspired Sir Walter Scott to write so romantically about this beautiful corner of the country.

Gentle hills.
Ancient forests.
Meandering rivers.
Hidden lochs.
And views that quite simply take your breath away.

This is the Scottish Borders.

A place I feel incredibly lucky to call home.

I'd love to share it with you.

Come and join me on one of our half-day or full-day wild swimming adventures, where all you need to do is climb aboard and let the adventure begin.

We'll leave the main roads behind and head off piste, following quiet B roads that weave through some of the most breath taking scenery the Borders has to offer.

Along the way we'll discover beautiful wild swimming locations, share stories, enjoy plenty of laughter and, if you're joining us for the full day, stop for some hearty Scottish fare in an idyllic setting.

This isn't about ticking off swim spots.

It's about going on an adventure.

Exploring places you might never have found on your own.

Finding beauty in the unexpected.

And perhaps... finding your own place in the water.

If you've ever fancied seeing a different side of Scotland, we'd love you to come and explore it with us.

Our 1/2 day trips currently run on a Thursday and our Full Day on a Friday but if you have a group of intrepid swimmers of 3 or 4 then lets arrange a bespoke adventure on a day that suits.

Water safety: Every swim location is carefully chosen based on the weather, water conditions and the experience of the group. A full safety briefing is provided before every swim, and you'll be supported throughout the day.

We aim, in line with our values, for our adventures to be as inclusive as possible. If you have any queries, please contact us so we can chat it through with you.

🌊 Why does the water always feel SO cold on my feet?

You know that moment…

You’ve walked down to the water feeling quite excited.

You put one foot in…

And suddenly your toes are shouting,

“Absolutely not!” 😄

So why do our feet seem to notice the cold so dramatically?

There’s a bit of science behind it.

Our skin contains temperature sensors that detect changes in temperature and send messages through our nerves to the brain.

One of these is called TRPM8 – Transient Receptor Potential Melastatin 8.

Quite a mouthful!

Basically, TRPM8 is one of the body's cold sensors. When the temperature of our skin suddenly drops, these receptors become active and help send that very clear message to the brain…

“It's COLD!”

And our brain takes notice.

That sudden cold exposure also contributes to activating our sympathetic nervous system – our familiar fight or flight response.

Our heart rate can increase, our breathing can become quicker and the blood vessels near our skin and in our extremities constrict to help conserve heat.

So that little conversation between your feet and your brain is actually part of a much bigger response happening throughout your body.

And, of course, water takes heat away from us much faster than air, which is why that first step can feel quite so dramatic.

I always find the funny thing is that my feet can spend those first few moments protesting loudly…

Then, once I'm in, my breathing has settled and my body has started adapting, they seem to realise...

We're staying! 😄

So perhaps your toes aren't being quite as dramatic as you thought.

They're simply doing their job.

Water safety: That initial response to cold water is real and can affect your breathing and movement. Enter slowly, give your breathing time to settle and choose an entry and exit that you can manage safely. Suitable footwear can also help protect your feet and improve grip.

We aim, in line with our values, for our adventures to be as inclusive as possible. If you have any queries, please contact us so we can chat it through with you.

Feeling very grateful, proud, and incredibly happy.

After our road trip to Arbroath

Grateful that our adventurers trusted us to create a fabulous, memorable & safe swim trip

Proud that all our adventurers gave it a go, pushed their boundaries & surprised themselves.

Happy at the joy and empowerment that was experienced & the beauty that surrounded us during our swim amongst the mystical Arbroath cliffs.

Loch Lomond Adventure 🌄🌊

let's become a day tripper.

Some might say…

A day out of the Borders is a day wasted.

But if you’re going to head away…

You go somewhere that’s worth it.

And Loch Lomond?

It absolutely is.

This isn’t just a trip up the road.

It’s a full day of heading out together in the minibus with great chats, a lot of laughs, and that feeling of going somewhere a bit different with a group of like-minded folk.

We’ll explore swim spots along the banks…
Find those quieter places away from the crowds…
Step into water that makes you stop and take it all in.

And in between?

There’s the laughter.
The shared moments.
The stories that come from doing something just a little bit out of the ordinary.

That’s what these days are about.

Not just the swims…

But the people you do them with.

If you fancy a day of exploring, swimming (optional) and seeing a different side of things, come and join us 🌊

Celebration of Femininity with a relaxing Sauna and tranquil

We are FULL - thank you 🙏

I ran an intro session with Cedar Hus at their base at Bewliehill Farm recently

And oh my gosh I was blown away by the peace and tranquillity of the setting.
The barley gently blowing in the breeze, the bees buzzing in the wildflowers, the gently ripple of stream flowing through the Ale Water and the warmth of the sauna.

And thought - this lends itself so perfectly to a little celebration of being a women.
I can't express just how perfect this experience will be.

So ladies - get booked up and come and join me and let the beauty of the location relax you and recharge your batteries ready for what ever the weekend throws at you.
