🕊️ A Final Dove Update 🕊️
We’re delighted to share one final update on our two lovely doves. ❤️
On Saturday, they were collected from The Hurlet by the wonderful Karen from Acts of Dove, and we’re very happy to say they are now safely settled into their new home. 🏡🕊️
After their unexpected extended stay with us, we’re certainly going to miss seeing them! We’re just so pleased that they’re now exactly where they need to be, safe and being properly cared for.
A huge thank you to Karen for all her advice, support and help throughout, and to everyone who followed their little story, offered advice, shared our posts and wished them well.
It’s been quite the adventure for them, but thankfully it has a very happy ending. ❤️

🕊️ UPDATE ON THE HURLET DOVES 🕊️
We have some lovely news to share this afternoon!
After two weeks of keeping a close eye on our unexpected little residents, our team finally managed to safely secure both doves this morning. ❤️
They’ll be having one last wee overnight stay at The Hurlet, safely tucked up indoors, before Acts of Dove collect them tomorrow and take them into the care of a pigeon expert, where they’ll be properly looked after. 🕊️
A huge thank you to everyone who has contacted us, offered advice, checked in on them and offered their support over the past couple of weeks. We’ve been overwhelmed by how many people have cared about their welfare.
They certainly weren’t the residents we expected to have at The Hurlet, but we’re very relieved that their little adventure here has a happy ending. 💕
Sleep well tonight, wee doves, you’re safe now. 🕊️❤️

🕊️ We’ve had two unexpected little residents arrive at The Hurlet… 🕊️
Recently, two beautiful doves were brought along to a funeral service for a dove release. Unfortunately, when the time came, they didn’t fly off as expected and instead decided to make The Hurlet their new home! 🤍
Since then, our team have been doing our very best to keep them safe from harm, as well as making sure they are fed, watered and looked after.
While they are lovely little visitors, there is an important message behind this. If you are considering having a dove release as part of a funeral or memorial service, please make sure you use a reputable and experienced company, such as Acts of Dove Properly trained and cared for doves should be able to safely find their way home after a release.
We’d also like to say a huge thank you to Karen for sharing her expert advice and guidance with us on how best to care for our two unexpected residents and keep them safe for as long as they choose to stay with us. 🕊️❤️
For now, it looks like The Hurlet has gained two new members of the team… although they’re not much help with the paperwork! 😂
Please remember, a dove release can be a beautiful and meaningful tribute, but always choose an experienced and reputable provider. 🤍🕊️

🚗💦 Today's the Day! 💦🚗

Come along to The Hurlet Crematorium Charity Car Wash today and help us raise money for MND Scotland.

Our team will be washing cars until 3.00pm, so there's still plenty of time to pop in, get your car sparkling clean, and support a fantastic cause that's very close to our hearts.

🚗🧽 CHARITY CAR WASH – THIS MONDAY! 🧽🚗

Just a reminder that our Charity Car Wash is taking place this Monday, 3rd August, from 11am–3pm at The Hurlet Crematorium!

Our team will be swapping their usual duties for buckets and sponges to raise funds for MND Scotland, a charity very close to our hearts. 💙

🚦 TEMPORARY TRAFFIC LIGHTS – GLASGOW ROAD 🚦

Please be aware that four-way temporary traffic lights are currently in place on Glasgow Road at The Hurlet Crematorium and are expected to remain until Thursday 31st July.

If you are attending a funeral service or visiting the crematorium over the next few days, please allow extra time for your journey, as delays are likely in the area.

We understand how important it is to arrive in good time for a funeral service, so we would encourage everyone to plan ahead and leave a little earlier than usual.

Please feel free to share this post with anyone who may be travelling to The Hurlet this week.

☀️ Heatwave Advice for Visitors ☀️

With the current hot weather set to continue, we'd like to remind everyone attending services at The Hurlet Crematorium to take extra care of themselves.

If you are attending a funeral over the coming days, please dress appropriately for the warm weather, stay hydrated and, where possible, avoid spending long periods in direct sunlight.

We will have drinking water available for all visitors, but we encourage everyone to plan ahead and look after themselves during the heat.

If you or a loved one are feeling unwell, are particularly vulnerable to the effects of hot weather, or have underlying health conditions, please consider whether attending is the best option. Your health and wellbeing are important, and we know families will understand if someone is unable to be present.

Thank you for helping us ensure everyone can pay their respects safely and comfortably during this period of exceptionally warm weather.

A sincere thank you to everyone who joined us yesterday for our Father's Day Service.

It was wonderful to come together to remember and celebrate the fathers, grandfathers and father figures who have touched our lives and left lasting memories in our hearts.

We hope the service brought comfort, reflection and an opportunity to honour your loved ones in a meaningful way. Thank you for sharing this special time with us and for helping create such a warm and supportive atmosphere.
