Travelling across time zones for holidays? Jet lag hits women harder in midlife because of how our circadian rhythm interacts with hormonal shifts.
I’m Stacy Sims Menopause 2.0 Certified and I follow her framework when prepping for a long flight. Here’s what suggests: 1. Travel day - minimise caffeine to morning and try to get to bed early in the new time zone (don’t use caffeine to try and push through later in the day). 2. Stabliise blood sugar with protein and fibre (meats, eggs, Greek yogurt, veg to help control your hunger hormones). 3. Stay hydrated - flight cabins are really dry. Adding a pinch of salt to water can be really effective for supporting absorption 4. Consider supplements to help calm your nervous system and prepare you for sleep. Stacy advises: L-theanine, Magnesium threonate, Rhodiola Rosea, which is an adaptogen, or you could substitute that for ashwagandha, and microdosing on melatonin (0.5 mg 3 hours before bedtime). We got this 💪🏻
