Let's kick start our week by recognising that trauma isn't something that you "just get over" 🫂

It's very normal to think "why haven't I moved on from this yet" or "why is this still bothering me" 🤷🏻‍♀️

Your mind, and your body, have created coping mechanisms, neuro pathways, and 'memories' of this trauma 😔

So, let's reframe those "why's" into "what's" 🤔

When you find yourself asking those "why" questions this week, catch yourself and ask "what do I need right now to feel safe" or "what can I do in this moment to feel calmer" 🤗

We cannot change the trauma that we have faced but we can learn new ways of responding to it 🦋

Many people who want to get support from R**e Crisis experienced r**e, sexual assault, sexual abuse or another type of sexual violence a year or more ago.

In fact:
> 1 in 3 adult survivors of child sexual abuse only tell someone about what happened to them later in life.
> 1 in 3 R**e Crisis Centre service users in England and Wales are adult survivors of child sexual abuse.

Even if it happened a long time ago, we are here for you 💜

Become a Dragonfly Champion 🦋

The Dragonfly Project, developed by PARAGON, supports people affected by domestic abuse by training local volunteers to become trusted points of contact in their communities.

With over 7,000 Champions trained since 2017 and 499 trained in 2025-26 alone.

Champions receive domestic abuse awareness training, ongoing support, and resources to help signpost those experiencing abuse to specialist services.

📍 Training is delivered online via Microsoft Teams. We're running out of spaces for our next two sessions, so be quick to register!
