I have not done a charity fundraiser since 2024 so have decided that it’s time to do another. (Poor Arlo!).

This time I am hoping to raise money to help fight pancreatic cancer, a merciless disease that takes so many lives.

I am raising money in memory of a lovely lady Lora Witten and all of the other people taken by this terrible disease.

As most of you will know, I am a walker, so I have set myself the charities biggest challenge of walking 197km in September.

If you are able to support Arlo and I with this challenge this September by making a donation to help fight pancreatic cancer, no matter how small, we would greatly appreciate your support.

Please don’t tell Arlo what I’ve done as he’s still getting over the last one we did for Cancer Research, and he will probably leave home … 😱

Thank you for your support ### 😘

A snippet from an email that I received from my favourite FD’s today:

“Hi Tina,

Thank you for all your hard work and for the wonderful support you provide to our families. Your kindness, care, and professionalism are truly appreciated, and you make such a positive difference to those going through difficult times”.

I am feeling even more overwhelmed as I do this work purely to help people. It is so lovely to feel appreciated by both the Funeral Directors as well as the family 💖

Thank you all - I really appreciate your support. It’s not the easiest career path I’ve ever chosen … ###

I receive so many wonderful thank you cards, gifts and emails from the families I help, that I find it quite overwhelming.

It’s always such an honour to be able to help families through such sad times.

Thank you all for being so kind to me.

For any of my friends struggling at the moment, and I know there are a few of you, please just remember this beautiful poem - it’s very true. Thinking of you all, you know where I am ### 😘

The Mountain:

If the mountain seems too big today,
then climb a hill instead.
If the morning brings you sadness,
it’s ok to stay in bed.

If the day ahead weighs heavy,
and your plans feel like a curse,
there’s no shame in rearranging,
don’t make yourself feel worse.

If a shower stings like needles,
and a bath feels like you’ll drown,
if you havn’t washed your hair for days,
don’t throw away your crown.

A day is not a lifetime,
a rest is not defeat,
don’t think of it as failure,
just a quiet, kind, retreat.

It’s ok to take a moment,
from an anxious, fractured mind,
the world will not stop turning,
while you get realigned.

The mountain will still be there
when you want to try again,
you can climb it in your own time,
Just love yourself ‘til then.

Today I delivered the service of my wonderful friend of over 40 years, Bill. It was the hardest service I have ever had to deliver, and that’s not because of my sore throat. Rest in peace you lovely man, we all miss you terribly ### 😘

I just wanted to share this beautiful poem for anyone who is struggling. It was sent to me by a family I am currently helping.

Remember to always be kind. You never know what another person may be going through ###

Today I delivered the service of a lovely gentleman who was almost 102 years old. I left that crematorium to go to a different crematorium to pay tribute to a wonderful cousin. Tomorrow we will be saying goodbye to yet another wonderful cousin.

Being surrounded by so much death is always such a good reminder that we should be kind to ourselves and kind to each other. No one knows “what’s around that corner”, so live well, laugh lots and hug those people that you love. Life is SO short, enjoy every moment x
