Yesterday was Guru Purnima. šŸ™

It also marked three years since I began one of the most intensive and transformative journeys of my life - my Classical Hatha Yoga teacher training.

What began as a 6 month journey actually carried lessons way beyond which I did not foresee at the time.

What’s been most remarkable is that the deeper my sadhana becomes, the deeper these teachings seem to reveal themselves.

These are seven quotes I find myself returning to, again and again as told by my guru. Not because they’re inspiring, but because they’ve genuinely shaped the way I think, practise and live.

On this Guru Purnima, we give our deepest gratitude to our gurus, our teachers, and to all those who has illuminated the path before us. Without them, this growth would not have been possible.

Happy Guru Purnima. ā™„ļøšŸŒø

Travelling alone has become one of my favourite forms of self-development.
Not because every trip is exciting or life-changing, but because it teaches me things that are difficult to learn any other way.

I learn to trust myself.
I realise my own company is enough.
I stop waiting for someone else to make plans.
I become more present.
I begin to appreciate the simple things.
Ironically, the greatest gift of solo travel has very little to do with travelling.
It’s the relationship you build with yourself.

I don’t think everyone needs to travel the world. But I do think everyone should spend some intentional time alone.

Whether that’s taking yourself out for breakfast, going for a walk without headphones, spending a day exploring your own city, or travelling somewhere new.

Especially as a young woman it also feels incredibly empowering to know you don’t need anyone else to see and do things you love even in a different city.

What’s something you’ve learnt from spending time alone?

Boring habits that work wherever you are. (Part 1)

Whether I’m at home or travelling, it helps to keep a few things constant. These are just a few things I try to bring into my mornings to keep me fresh and energised throughout the day.

✨ 1. A nourishing brunch
Starting the first meal of day with something nutritious and kind to the body makes a HUGE difference in how I feel. Yoga has made me much more aware that food isn’t just fuel - it directly influences how I feel, think and move throughout the day. The worst thing is when I eat a meal when feel so sluggish and fatigued so just that first healthy meal makes me feel so much happier.

🚶 2. A short walk after eating
A short walk after eating helps your muscles use the glucose from the bloodstream, reducing post meal blood sugar spikes. Several studies have found that walking shortly after eating is more effective for blood sugar control than taking the same walk an hour later. It also helps prevent the afternoon slump.

šŸ›ļø 3. Making my bed
It takes less than a minute, but it creates a sense of order before the day begins. I find that when my environment feels organised, my mind often follows.

🧘 4. Sadhana
This is the non-negotiable.
Sadhguru often says that your body and mind should work for you, not against you. For me, that’s what my daily practice is about. It’s not something I do because I always feel motivated - t’s the foundation that helps me experience the rest of the day with a little more clarity, balance and ease.

No matter where I wake up in the world, these are the habits that help me feel at home.

Part 2 coming up where it gets a bit more interesting.

22/07/2026

Travelling has always been a big part of my life. Whether I’m moving between homes, cities or countries, I don’t usually spend an extended period of time in the same place.

Usually that would disorient me.
But it doesn’t.
Because I try to keep my mornings constant.

Before the emails, the exploring, the meetings or the plans, there’s my practice.
It’s become the foundation of my day - a way to arrive before the day begins.
I’ve found that once my sadhana is complete, everything else seems to fall into place a little more easily. Not because life becomes simpler, but because I meet it differently.

No matter where I wake up tomorrow, that’s the one thing I know I’ll carry with me. And it’s changed how I operate.

If you want something simple to start your day with the right way, DM me ā€˜start’ and I’ll send you an easy practise to begin.

Motivation is an emotion. It comes and goes.

But belief and commitment are choices.

Which one would you prefer to lead with?

There was a time when I thought discipline meant committing to the things the world tells us are hard.

Wake up earlier.
Do more.
Push harder.

And to a certain extent, that’s true.
But yoga gave me a completely different perspective.

After three years of returning to the same practices, I’ve realised that choosing my mat - even when my mind insists there are more ā€œimportantā€ things to do - has been one of the most disciplined and valuable commitments I’ve ever made to myself.

Making space for my mind when it feels loud.
Choosing stillness instead of constant doing.
Returning to the practice, even when I don’t feel like it.

It hasn’t necessarily become easier.
But the value of that daily commitment has become impossible to ignore. It’s what keeps me coming back, regardless of how I feel on any given day.

And maybe that’s what discipline really is.
Not doing what’s easy.
Not doing what feels good in the moment.
But consistently choosing what you know serves you.

After all, discipline was never meant to be easy - that’s kind of the point.

I stopped thinking like this and immediately my days came less about thinking and more about doing. And then naturally things started to happen. A reminder that Yoga is about the way you approach life and the body, not only on the mat but also away from it.
