I’m sooo proud, not only of our Run Club but every single person who took part in The Big Half today. Whether you were running, cheering or volunteering, that was just magical.

We laughed, we cheered and we cried.
Unbelievable day.

How could you not wanna be part of this community?

Big shout out to our Run Club kids for completing the mile. We are so proud of you all ❤️

I’ve had this page for over two years now. I made it to share my journey and to share my story, but I feel like somewhere along the way, I went a little bit off track.

Or maybe I didn’t. Maybe everything I’ve shared and everything I’ve done has all been part of the journey. Maybe I needed to build my confidence to get to this point and finally do what I always planned to do.

I’ve always wanted to talk about my dad and what happened. I’ve been open about the way he died, but I’ve never actually spoken about what happened.

Over the last couple of weeks, it feels like a spark has been lit again, and I just know that I’m ready.

But some of you guys might not be, and that’s okay. I wanted to put this post out before I start sharing because I understand that this topic may be triggering for some people, and I care about how people feel.

I’ve spoken to my daughter, my mum and my brother, and they are all so supportive and have given me their blessing.

I can’t speak on behalf of my dad or talk about why he did what he did, because he’s not here and that’s his story. But I can share mine.

I can talk about what it was like having a dad who lived with clinical depression and severe PTSD. I can share how I felt when he died while I was trying to look after my own young children.

I can talk about the things I went through and how I felt.

If you feel that these posts might upset you or trigger something for you, then I completely understand if you need to mute or unfollow me. I just wanted to give you a heads-up before I start sharing.

I don’t know how or where to start, but I do know that what I have to say could help other people who have been through something similar.

Love
Bug xx

Yep, that’s me 😂 29 years later and I’ve brought the fringe back haha.

As a kid, I was always wishing my life away. I wanted to be 13, then 16, then 18, then 21… I blinked and now I’m nearly 40.

And it’s just sad how quickly life can change. How things can happen that you never could have dreamed of.

So make the most of it. And don’t bloody wish it away.

Not every long run is going to give you that lovely “I’m a runner, I love this” feeling.

Sometimes it’s just bloody hard, boring, uncomfortable and you’re counting down every single kilometre.

I had 19k easy run to do on Sunday and I’ve had to swap it around because I’m really busy this weekend.

I had a stitch for most of it, my legs felt like they weighed 10 tonne and I’m bloated as hell.

I honestly hated every minute of it.

I just kept thinking, get the distance done. It doesn’t matter how long it takes, just get it done.

Thank god that’s over and I haven’t got another long run until next Sunday.

I’m not having a great training block and I know it’s because my body is knackered as I’ve been training for races most of the year. I can’t wait until Chicago is over and I can take some time out.

I will prob love it again next week. Proper love/hate relationship this game 😂

I thought I’d try and show a bit more of my life because I think people probably think I just run and that’s my life 😂

I’ve actually got 3 kids and my life is hectic from the second I open my eyes. One kid thinks I’m her uber and the other one doesn’t move off the sofa and just demands food all day.
I’ve also got a small printing business which I’ve had for about 11 years now. I go through phases where I absolutely love it and give it everything, and then other times I just can’t be bothered with it 😂

It all started because I wanted my son to have a Peter Rabbit themed first birthday. I designed and made my first character stand-up banner. Before that, we’d only ever made them for businesses. I posted it online and it just went from there.

Anyway, here’s a little half a day in the life of me. I got bored of myself by the afternoon and stopped recording haaaa 😂

Back from holiday and I don’t know if I need a s**t, a shave or a haircut, but first, we run. The 2 big kids stayed at home and although it was tidy, I don’t think they opened a window all week.
I think my hairdresser will have a heart attack watching me brush my hair 😂
Happy nearly back to school week!

Again, this is just what has worked for me on my journey. If you love having a drink on holiday, then by all means carry on. This is just for anyone who is thinking about giving an alcohol-free holiday a go.

If you’re anything like me, I couldn’t just go on holiday and have a couple. I’d be up at the all-inclusive bar at 10am and I’d be the last one standing in the evening.

I’ve been on so many trips now without drinking alcohol, the first time is definitely the hardest.

But the feeling you come away with afterwards is amazing. Actually remembering the whole holiday. Not waking up cringing about what you did the day before. Not spending the whole day dying around the pool because you drank too much the night before.

Have you ever done a holiday alcohol-free?
How did you find it?
Do you have any tips to share?
