31 degrees in London today. The garden is where the morning sit happened β€” shade, water, no phone. That kind of heat makes you slow down whether you want to or not, which is actually useful. I have one-to-one sessions and group classes running this week if you want to explore what a proper practice looks like. Link in bio.

Sunday morning. Lawn needs doing, tea is getting cold. The group class runs this afternoon β€” still a couple of spaces if you want to join. We work from a Chan and Taoist framework, so it is not your standard mindfulness session. Come and see what that actually means in practice. Link in bio.

Sunday morning. You scroll and feel measured against everyone else. Comparison settles like a fog around the throat. You perform, you tally, you shrink. Something softer watches the scoring without joining it. It shifts the weight of who you think you must be. I offer one-to-one sessions and group classes. Link in bio.

Most arguments are not really about the thing they appear to be about.

Underneath the disagreement about the decision, the plan, the words that were said, there is usually something older. A need to be seen as competent. To not be made to feel small. To have the version of events that makes sense of who you are.

Being right becomes a way of staying intact.

Chan teaching notices this without judgement. The one who needs to win the argument is protecting something. It is worth asking what. Not to dissolve the argument. To see what is underneath it.

Taoist understanding points to water. It does not argue with the rock. It finds the way around. Not because it is weak. Because it is not invested in the rock being wrong.

Vajrayana practice is precise here. The rigidity that needs to be right is itself a form of suffering. Not a moral failing. A contraction. And awareness can hold even that contraction without becoming it.

The position is real. And something beneath the position is already at ease.

If you want to work with this directly, I offer one-to-one sessions and group classes. Link in bio.

Thursday morning. Coffee and notes before the first session. I keep a journal going back years β€” not a diary, more like working things out on paper. A lot of what ends up in my teaching started here. One-to-one sessions and group classes open now if you want to explore this properly. Link in bio.

This cushion has been in use for about twelve years. It shows. The practice does not need to look pristine β€” it just needs to happen. I teach from a Vajrayana-Chan-Taoist background and run one-to-one sessions and group classes. August spots are open now. Link in bio.

Good morning. Morning light, a slow breath and a quiet cup of tea can gently shape the rest of the day. Presence often grows through small moments we fully notice.
