A day of games today starting with Scrabble in the morning. Creating words is great for the mind and also looking up the meaning of words too makes it more interesting.

It was the residents favourite this afternoon with bingo. Activities Trev Clarke had got some new prizes on offer. Well done to Yo for winning some shortbread and Joy for winning some toothpaste. Ken also won a line prize but wants to save his prize for next time.

We had a busy day today starting with a visit from the ice-cream van. We catered for all the residents who wanted them in the home but it was a bit cool to stand outside.

This was followed by a quiz which involved general knowledge questions, guess the food by pictures and fill in the missing words.

After lunch it was time for pizza making. Choosing toppings and putting cheese on top then of course tasting them.

To finish the day it was time to say goodbye to our hospitality manager Michelle Szmyrgala Bailey. She had prepared a video of her memories with us and we all had a bit of a sob.... Good luck Michelle in your new your new venture.

This morning was a music morning reminiscing and playing guess the song and composer. This was upstairs in our upper lounge. Unfortunately a lot of residents do not have photo permission so we are unable to take photos of those who took part.

A lovely garden walk this afternoon looking at our little veg garden. We had our little robin come to visit which is very tame. Janet and joy looked at our tomatoes, Ruth has a look at our onions. Jean loved the baby potatoes we had while activities Raphael Spraggons and Trev Clarke checked out the chillies.

We had a lovely chat under the pagoda where we have white and red grapes growing. Joy challenged us to try the grapes, the red ones were nice but the white a bit sour.

A morning of hand massage and pamper today. We have our hairdresser in on a Tuesday so what better way to start than having your nails done and a hand massage too.

This was followed by yoga and then some action songs too.

We bid a sad farewell to our Head Chef, Andrea.

Andrea has been with the home for over 3 years but has decided to take the brave steps to start her own Cleaning Business.

We wish her everything of the best for her new venture

Today we enjoyed some word games and word searches. We also coloured some flowers and birds in too. We enjoyed some group singing, played Scrabble and also started on our memory boxes.

Our memory box will be unique for each resident to store not only their art work in but they can also keep any photos or maybe a loved soft toy in.
