Last week, Milo and I celebrated 2 years of round the clock breastfeeding! And boy, what a journey it has been. To name just a few of our challenges: emergency C-Section, pre-eclampsia, NICU admission, posterior tongue - tie, maternal mental health crisis and a 3.5 month stay under section in a mother and baby unit, we’ve kept going through it all! With a lot of help and encouragement from family and friends and a heap of determination (or maybe stubbornness and a boob-crazy baby!), I eventually surpassed my goal of 2 years of breastfeeding. I continue to use my experiences to help other mothers in my new NHS role as a community neonatal nurse, and will shortly be starting private work again locally as an IBCLC Lactation Consultant. Feeling so grateful 💙
