These aren’t quick stretches. Yin gives you time to stay in a position, settle and allow the body to gradually soften.

This simple Pilates side bend is brilliant for improving spinal mobility, core strength and posture.

By reaching up and over while keeping control through your centre, you’re not just stretching your side body—you’re strengthening the muscles that support your spine and helping your body move more efficiently.

✨ Move slowly.
✨ Keep both hips grounded.
✨ Think about lengthening rather than collapsing into the stretch.

Small, controlled movements often make the biggest difference.

Strong doesn’t always mean moving faster or doing the hardest exercise.

One of the biggest benefits of Pilates is learning to move with control. Every lift has a purpose, every muscle works together, and every movement is done with intention.

Pull Leg Prone is a fantastic exercise for building core strength, improving shoulder stability and strengthening the muscles that support good posture.

In my classes, we focus on quality over quantity. We take the time to build strong foundations before progressing, so you feel confident and move better in everyday life.

How often do you move sideways?

Most of us spend our day moving forwards—driving, sitting at a desk, looking at our phones or working around the house. But our bodies are designed to move in every direction.

This Pilates side bend strengthens your core, improves lateral spinal mobility, challenges balance and helps you build control through the whole body.

In my classes, we focus on quality of movement rather than rushing through lots of exercises. We take the time to learn each movement well before progressing, helping you build strength and confidence safely.

Pilates isn’t about rushing through lots of exercises—it’s about learning to move well.

This movement combines a roll up with a side bend to improve spinal mobility, strengthen your core, and help you move with more control in everyday life.

In my classes, we take the time to build each exercise step by step. Good technique comes first, then we progress when your body is ready. That’s how you build strength and confidence, creating lasting results.

One pose, two ways ✨

Shoelace can feel quite different depending on whether you practise it seated or lying down.

The seated version asks you to support yourself in a more upright position, while the reclined version allows the body to be more supported — which can make it easier to soften, relax and stay in the pose for longer.

Neither version is better. It’s about finding the variation that works best for your body.

My favourite is the lying version. I find I can relax into it more and let the pose do its work without feeling like I need to hold myself upright.

Which one feels best for you?

Can’t do Pull Leg Prone yet? Start here 👇

Pull Leg Prone is a challenging Pilates exercise that asks for more than just strong legs. You need a solid plank first, with good shoulder stability and enough core control to keep your body steady as one leg lifts.

Start in a modified plank position and practise lifting one leg at a time without shifting through the pelvis or losing your alignment.

When you can control that well, progress to the full plank version.

The goal isn’t to get your leg as high as possible — it’s to keep the rest of your body strong and stable while the leg moves.

Build the foundations first. The more advanced exercises will follow.

Want to do this? Start here 👇

The more advanced Pilates exercises don’t happen overnight — they’re built through control, strength and progression.

Start with the Single Leg Circle, learning to keep the pelvis stable while one leg moves.

Then progress to Double Leg Circles with the head and shoulders down, challenging your core to control the movement of both legs together.

Finally, build towards the full Double Leg Circle, where balance, core strength and control all come together.

You don’t need to rush to the hardest version. Master each stage, then progress when your body is ready.

Save this one and work your way through the progressions 💪

We spend so much of the day sitting, driving or rushing from one thing to the next that our hips can start to feel tight and restricted.

Half Shoelace is one of my favourite Yin Yoga poses for gently encouraging release through the hips and glutes. The key isn’t to push deeper into the stretch—it’s to find a position where you can breathe, soften and allow your body to gradually let go of tension.

Remember, Yin Yoga isn’t about how far you can stretch. It’s about giving your body time to relax and restore.

Take a deep breath, slow down, and let your body do the work. 🌿

The shoulder bridge is one of my favourite Pilates exercises because it has so much room for progression.

Before moving on to more challenging variations, make sure you can perform each level with good control and a stable pelvis. There’s no prize for rushing ahead—building strength and control step by step is what leads to the best results.

In this reel you’ll see:
✔️ Shoulder bridge
✔️ Marching bridge
✔️ Single-leg bridge

Remember, progression isn’t about making an exercise harder as quickly as possible. It’s about choosing the version that’s right for you today.

Which level are you working on?
