Who loves Cupping? 🙋‍♀️

Cupping therapy is often used as another form of deep tissue massage and offers a wide range of different benefits including:
⭐️ Pain relief
⭐️ Improved blood flow
⭐️ Reduced inflammation
⭐️ Relaxation and stress reduction
⭐️ Respiratory Benefits
⭐️ Enhanced Immune Function

Due to the placement of the cups on the skin and removing the air this can cause bruising following the treatment. Everyone is different and bruising typically lasts a few days after the treatment (if you are prone to bruising this may last longer) but does eventually fade.

Cupping therapy is a type of deep tissue massage that may be used to help with pain, inflammation, blood flow and relaxation.

In line with manual therapy and stretching, cupping can be effective by reducing inflammation, enhancing blood circulation, removal of toxins from the body and encourage full body comfort and relaxation 😌

Possible side effects of this treatment include mild discomfort due to the suction and bruising that can last for a few days up to a few weeks depending on the person receiving the treatment.

⬆️THE BENEFITS OF SPORTS MASSAGE⬆️

Sports massage therapy is the management, manipulation and rehabilitation of soft tissues within the body specifically the muscles, tendons and ligaments.
A sports massage can not only help treat your current strains and tension but can be used as a method of preventing future injuries - these include overuse or repetitive strain injuries whether they are from your daily life or from your training regime 🏋️‍♂️

ROM (range of motion) and stiffness

Todays client is an orthodox boxer meaning that the first image is the clients back hand and the second image is the clients front hand (jab). As you can see on the first image, the clients scapular is more prominent and elbow is down to the bed in this stretched position. Whereas on the second image the clients scapula is not so prominent and found it hard to get elbow down to the bed. This is due to the client continuously using the jab more frequently than the back hand meaning that the muscles surrounding the scapula and the shoulder become more tight and more restricted to movements.

A full back massage with Cupping Therapy followed on by further back massage and scapula stretch, the client felt she had a lot more ROM around her jab arm can will continue to get weekly massage to to better the effects 🥊💪🏼

KT Taping for yesterday for his rugby game. A few weeks back Luke injured his hamstring and a suspect grade 1 tear. With a lot of rest, Luke has been stretching more frequently and having regular massage to help with the healing process and to relax his hamstring muscles. We decided to place tape@to his hamstring for that extra support and Luke was able to play rugby with no problems 🤩

❗️LOWER BACK PAIN❗️

What can cause lower back pain?

Lower back pain can be caused by a number of things including: muscular strain or damage, bad posture etc. It can also be influenced by daily activities including job, lack of exercise and the way we sleep.

How can I help my lower back pain?

If your job or daily life consists of sitting down a lot at a desk or does not involve a lot of physical activity. Taking regular walking breaks or standing and changing position can be a great way to help the muscles in our back to be stretched out. Posture re-checks whilst sat in the chair to help to sit nice and tall and bring shoulders back.
Massage! Of course!💁‍♀️ Regular massage on the lower back can help relax the muscles and increase flexibility. Tight Hamstrings can also be the cause of some lower back pain as the hamstrings originate from the Ischial Tuberosity so if these where to be tight, this would pull on out muscles cause pain to the lower back. So having the Hamstrings massaged also will help relieve strain on the Ischial Tuberosity.
