I’m taking part in a very special event next weekend 🤍

I grew up just a couple of miles away from Strawberry Hill House (it’s one of my favourite buildings in England!) and also spent three years studying at St Mary’s University next door, where we were lucky enough to look out on this beautiful gothic revival villa from some of our lecture halls!

This weekend is the 8th Strawberry Hill House Flower Festival brought to you by Flowers at the House and co-curated by flowersonthe.edge and, over four days, 30 of the UK’s most exciting floral designers will fill the house and gardens with immersive installations using only British grown flowers and sustainable techniques. There will also be talks and live demonstrations, and a retail village of sustainable, local makers on the lawn, which is where you’ll find me!*

If you’ve an interest in flowers, sustainability, history and/or incredible architecture this festival is a must. Tickets are available online (I will add a link to my stories) and hope to see lots of you there 🌸🌻🌺🌼🪷🌿

It’s September tomorrow!!! My favourite, favourite, FAAAAAVOURITE time of year is just beginning and I have some brilliant early autumn events lined up this coming month.

You’ll find me at Farnham Maltings monthly market on Saturday 5th, at my first ever Clapham vintage & flea on Sunday 6th, next door to my old university at Strawberry Hill House & Garden flower festival on Saturday 13th and at my regular Richmond Duck Pond Market | Est. 2008 pitches on Sunday 13th and 27th.

Come say hi, chat all things sustainable / circular / vintage, sniff some candles, return your empties for recycling and feel free to treat me to a flat white if it’s chilly 🤪😉

I’m launching lots of NEW THINGS over the next couple of months so keep your eyes peeled!

Just a little bit shocked to find out I’ve been nominated for the Business Leader award at the SME National Business Awards!!! This award recognises individuals or business leaders that are making a difference in their community, and I’m honoured (and gobsmacked in all honesty 😂) to have been shortlisted, especially as this is a national category.

As the founder (and sole employee) of EARLEY+DAUGHTERS, I like to think that leadership doesn’t have to involve a large team, and is more about setting an example to others. I’ve spent the last four years working hard to help my customers and community to make more sustainable choices, not just through using sustainable materials myself, but also talking about how important it is to reduce waste, and encouraging people to buy once, buy well, and keep things in circulation for as long as possible. Behind the scenes I’ve also been supporting other small businesses in reducing their environmental impact.

I’m really proud to be building a business that leads by example, and like to think that I’m proof that lots of small, positive changes from individuals all matter, as they all add up.

Market managers that dish out ice lollies in the middle of heatwaves are the best market managers!! Thanks Flo’s Circle for keeping morale high and us cool in Portchester yesterday… you’re the best!☀️🚀🥵

I’ve got a bit of time off now - am off to see some bands from my youth play in a field in Surrey today 🤪 and then am kick starting the kids summer holidays with a trip to see family in Wales next weekend - but I’ll be back for a double header at the end of the month!
