HOT WEATHER UPDATE ☀️

Due to the high temperatures within our buildings and our inability to cool the spaces to a safe and comfortable level over the next few days, we have decided to cancel some sessions. ❌

This decision has been made in line with government guidance and recommendations around keeping cool during periods of hot weather, and to ensure the health and wellbeing of all children, families and staff. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

KEEP COOL SESSIONS
Please also note that some of the sessions that are running will have a KEEP COOL theme and will be calmer sessions with activities appropriate for the weather. 🎨📚

We may need to shorten some sessions ⏰ and reduce the capacity for families within the session 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 to ensure we keep these cooler spaces as cool as possible. ❄️

Hertfordshire County Council wants to hear about your experiences of pregnancy – including diet, physical activity, weight gain, and the services and support you received.

You can take part in two ways:

📢 Important sessions update:

This week the below sessions are of a shorter time and therefore £1.50 per session.

Wednesday 12th August, Family Fun at Creswick Family Centre will be running 09:30 - 10:30.

Friday 14th August, Family Fun at High Trees will be running 09:30 - 10:30.

They will both be Keep Cool themed with water based activities.

🌟 Exciting news for Hertfordshire families! 🌟

The Family Support Service, together with Best Start Family Hubs in Watford and Stevenage, is launching The Incredible Years® Preschool Parenting Programme this autumn.

Designed for parents and carers of children aged 3–5, this 15-week programme helps families build stronger relationships, encourage positive behaviour, and support children’s emotional regulation, language, social skills, and problem-solving through practical, evidence-based strategies.

✅ Learn through play, praise, positive attention, effective routines, and calm, consistent approaches to challenging behaviour
✅ Support from trained practitioners every step of the way.
✅ Available online or in person
