💙Vacancies - Salaried GPs💙

Salaried GPs are wanted to join our team. We are looking for two GPs (to cover 10 sessions a week) to work across our sites. Flexibility on days and sites (Aysgarth and Reeth) with some remote working.

We are a dispensing Practice, use SystmOne, AccuRx and are about to go live with full EPS/ProScript. We currently have 2 sites (Hawes and Aysgarth) and are extending this to include a branch site in Reeth from June 2026.

If you’re interested, or want to have a general chat, please do get in touch.

💙 It’s official …. We are adding a Reeth Branch site

We have now had sign off from the Commissioners to go ahead with the Reeth branch site. This is not a temporary situation, it’s a permanent service as part of the Central Dales Practice.

We are pleased we were able to step up and provide the Reeth community with a solution to keep GP services in Swaledale. We fully appreciate how difficult and stressful the last few weeks have been with all the uncertainty but we really are here to help.

The next few weeks will be tough pulling this together but we will do it. We have the support of local GP Practices and our amazing communities.

Lots of practical issues to work through and lots to plan and do but we will make it happen don’t worry.

Patients currently registered with Reeth Medical Practice, you will continue to be cared for by them until the end of May at which point you will be moved over to Central Dales Practice. You don’t need to try and register with us.

To provide some clarity at this point, we will be offering a 2 to 3 day service. It will look and feel different we know but it’s the only viable option. As we work through plans we will continue to update everyone on how the service will look, how to access services, details of additional services you’ll have access to (as you’ll be part of Richmondshire Primary Care Network and Heartbeat Primary Care CIC), along with details on ordering and collecting medications etc.

Please bear with us 🤍

What a week 🙈

We wanted to give everyone a brief update to say that we are continuing to work on creating a branch site of Central Dales Practice in Reeth.

Retaining a GP presence in Reeth is vital and we fully appreciate needing this to be as accessible as possible.

We submitted a Business Case to the Commissioners and they are supportive of this. Obviously as we are sure you’ll imagine there are lots of hoops to jump through, lots of red tape to cut through … but we are doing our best, in this fight against time (legally there can’t be a ‘postponement’ or ‘time to work this out’).

We are blown away by your support and we stand firmly that the branch site cannot affect our current services - this is where the other Practices across Richmondshire are supporting us - they will help provide staff to help run services whilst we recruit.

Discussions are taking place regarding premises - options, leases, alternative sites, premises buying etc and we will strive to do our best.

Please bear with us and again, thank you for your ongoing support 💙

As we are sure you’ve heard we are working with the ICB (Commissioners) and the other GP Practices across Richmondshire to find a viable and sustainable solution for the patients of Reeth Medical Practice.

At the present time we are looking at all options and working through these in detail.

As you know, timeframes are tight so we need to move fast. We heard about the closure in the same way everyone else did and since then, have been actively trying to find solutions.

The GP Practices across Richmondshire are united in working together to retain services in Reeth and as a Practice we will play our part.

The reality is, we can plan and organise this or, the Reeth patients will be allocated to us at the end of May with no planning (which wouldn’t be safe). We need to get this right for everyone.

We care about our community and we care about our patients. We hope you can all trust us when we say we do not want our current services adversely affected and we are working hard behind the scenes to get this right for everyone.

Obviously we need more clinical members of staff to look after patients and we are seeking support from local Practices whilst recruiting. In addition we will need to expand the whole team whilst being mindful of the physical space we have available. Any plan must and will include on site care in Reeth.

Nothing as yet has been agreed, nothing as yet is official and nothing as yet has been signed. We are simply working together to look at solutions and how this would work.

Things are moving fast and we are doing all we can to get this right. Please bear with us and please, as a community, get behind us and support us because trust us, this is a difficult time and we are doing our best. 🤍

💙Just a little note to let everyone know that prescription charges will remain the same for 2026.

If you have at least one item a month remember it’s still cheaper to buy a pre-payment certificate which covers ALL prescription charges (repeats and acutes).
