Can Cranial Osteopathy help my baby?

Cranial Osteopathy is a very safe, effective, and gentle technique which involves the use of light pressure to enable the body to release tensions and strains. It is most commonly associated in the treatment of babies and children, but is suitable for all ages.

Here is a case example that came into the clinic a few weeks ago…
Baby V was 3 weeks old when her mum brought her into the clinic. She had difficulties with latching on and feeding and consequently wasn’t gaining weight. She was fully breast fed and her tongue-tie check came back negative.

Baby V’s birth was very long. On cranial examination, her neck was extended, her jaw was tight, and her neck and facial muscles felt tense. I explained to her mum that these mechanical issues could cause her problems with latching on and suckling.

Baby V improved following each session and after 3 cranial treatments, her latching and suckling had improved, she had started to gain weight and was discharged from our care healthy and happy.

How can Osteopathy help with your recovery?

Deep tissue massage / sports massage
After three or four days rest, a massage can really help the recovery process. We can offer advanced clinical massage that can help with sports injuries and discomfort, sports massage for muscles tightness and tension, or deep tissue massage if there is any pain or inflammation.

Give your body time to rest (at least 7 days) but if after a period of recuperation your muscles are still tight or you feel that you may have over-extended and inflamed the tendons in your ankles, lower legs, knees. thighs or even the muscles of the lower back, then come and see us.
