Two times this week I've ended up with a good result 🥳
1: Today speaking with my GP's pharmacist, I'll call him Dave for this. Dave has been amazing with me throughout the last few year's. I was (against my wishes) put on slow tramadol. I've found it did nothing to help regulate my pain and added to my symptoms. Due to moving soon, I wanted to come off it and remain on my normal tramadol. Que my medical anxiety!!!
Dave didn't even question why, he just said "I can do that for you". I felt like crying!
Where we are moving across country I needed other meds to be added, he did it there and then. I also explained due to moving I may need to order some of my opiods before I should, again Dave said "Email me and I will sort it for you" I could've reached down the phone and kissed him 🤣
But it means one less problem I have to worry about.
2: Sunshine Carebear 🌞🧸which is or should I say was my Tissue Viability Nurse. I gave her this nickname because she has been a legend, sun in a very heavy time and cared. She's worked incredibly hard for me. Gave me the Pico machine, got me a referral for a lymphedema clinic, referred to Pain Management and even when I felt like rubbish has cheered me on.
I saw her for the last time on Monday, where I was given a prescription for Comfiwave compression. I cried a lot when it was time for her to leave, because I will admit I didn't expect anything for TVN as previously it was just "wear your compression" But Sunshine Carebear came through like no one has. I have emailed to send a personal thank you to her. Sunshine Carebear deserves a raise! 🫶💖
These might be small to other's but to someone who has had to fight against the NHS so many times, these are triumphs to me.
So happy fricking Friday, I'm practically skipping (more a shuffle with less limp) 🤣
