Here I am, all prepped for a walk and talk. Raincoat on and sun cream in my bag! It was refreshing to feel the different elements with my senses today. The warm breeze, the odd spot of rain and the smell of approaching autumn in the air.

Walking and talking can be a very different experience for some compared to in-person or online therapy. The natural environment of soft lines, infinite colours, smells, sounds and natural light allows for our bodies to feel at home. Pure nature isn't forced and it may create a feeling of ease within you. We can walk, we can sit in the great outdoors, or do a bit of both, it's up to you ♥

Reaching the end of a therapeutic journey with a client is always a poignant moment. We worked online together every week, and they were kind enough to leave this thoughtful review:

"Kelly created a warm and safe space where I never felt judged or unable to share my feelings. As someone that has had a lot of previous experience with therapy/counselling in the past I was apprehensive about starting sessions as I often find it hard to connect with a counsellor. However, I was pleasantly surprised at how welcoming Kelly was and I would highly recommend her to anyone, regardless of their previous experiences with counselling/therapy, I can’t thank Kelly enough for how supportive she was."

In person-centred therapy, the relationship and connection are everything. To know a client felt entirely unjudged and safely supported is the highest compliment I could receive.

Whatever you experiences of counselling or therapy have been before, there is always space for a fresh, new path 🤍

This is me, Kelly and this is what you can expect to see when you join an online counselling session with me!

Why choose online counselling over in-person?

Starting therapy can be daunting at the best of times, without the considerations of the transport, parking, fuel money, 'where is the building, what is the counsellor going to be like, how comfortable will I feel in an unfamiliar place...'

Online counselling takes away those stressors and allows you to concentrate on YOU.

When working together online, you have complete control over your environment. Which location you use, what to sit on, choosing your favourite smell or a comforting drink. Perhaps a blanket, candle, or your beloved pet by your side.

We will still be deeply connected, it's still fully confidential and safe, yet without the stress or barriers that are in the way of you embarking on the positive process and change that you are looking for.

At the end of our sessions together, you can end the call on your phone or tablet, close your laptop, turn off your computer, and offer yourself what you need after your session. ♥

Here are my opening hours ♥️

I offer a free 20-minute online consultation, to find out more about each other, what brings you to counselling and if we would make a good match for working together. This is also a great opportunity for us both to 'break the ice' before your first session.

I caught a good interview and Q&A on Jeremy Vines show today on imposter syndrome today. This is worth a listen if you have or do experience this.

Imposter Syndrome is the internal experience of believing that you are not as competent as others perceive you to be. Despite clear evidence of your skills and accomplishments, you feel like a "fraud" and fear that, eventually, you will be unmasked.

I'm ready for a day of in-person clients today from a space in Pool, Redruth today.

Seeing clients in-person can be a quicker way to build a therapeutic relationship and the environment can aid that also.

In-person isn't for everyone, and there are many pros to online and telephone therapy which I also offer ♥️

I volunteer for Pegasus - Men's Wellbeing CIC and it's such a valuable resource for men in Cornwall and further afield in the country. If you are able to donate any money to allow them to continue helping men's mental health, then your money will have a huge impact on somebody's life. ❤️

Every man deserves to live.

Yet in the UK, 75% of people who die by su***de are men.

Why?

Because many men grow up hearing the same messages over and over:

Be strong.
Boys don’t cry.
Man up.
Don’t be silly — mental health isn’t real.

These words teach men to hide their emotions, suppress their struggles and face life’s challenges alone.

But silence can be deadly.

At Pegasus – Men’s Wellbeing Centre, we believe every man deserves somewhere safe to speak.

Every day, many men struggle silently with stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, and overwhelming life pressures. Too often, societal expectations tell men they should stay strong, stay quiet, and deal with problems alone.

But the reality is alarming.

In the UK, men account for around 75% of all su***des, and su***de remains one of the leading causes of death for men under 50. These statistics are a stark reminder of how important it is that men have somewhere safe to turn when they need support.

At Pegasus – Men’s Wellbeing Centre, we believe no man should have to face these struggles alone. Our services are designed specifically to support men in navigating these challenges and developing the resilience they need to rebuild their lives.

Pegasus provides a safe, confidential space where men can speak openly and receive professional counselling and emotional support. Through therapy, guidance, and compassionate care, we help men rebuild confidence, improve their mental health, and find a way forward.

Since the beginning, in 2014, Pegasus has supported more than 7,000 men, delivering tens of thousands of hours of counselling and therapeutic support.

But the demand for help continues to grow.

Every week, more men reach out asking for support. Many are in crisis. Some have nowhere else to turn.

That is why we are launching this campaign to raise £55,000 to help sustain and expand our services so that more men can access the help they need, when they need it most.

Why This Campaign Is Urgent

Demand for support is increasing rapidly, while funding for community mental health services remains extremely limited. Like many charities, Pegasus relies heavily on donations and supporters to sustain its work.

Without additional funding, our ability to continue providing accessible counselling sessions and responding to the growing number of men reaching out for help will be at risk.

Many of the men who contact Pegasus are already experiencing significant distress. When someone finally gathers the courage to ask for help, waiting weeks or months for support can feel overwhelming.

This campaign will help ensure that Pegasus can continue providing safe, professional support when men need it most.

What Men Say About Pegasus

The feedback we receive from men who access our services shows the real impact of counselling and support.

• 87% reported being very satisfied with the service overall
• 97% said they felt listened to and understood
• 91% rated their therapist’s professionalism as very satisfied
• 97% said they felt safe and respected during sessions

Many clients tell us that counselling at Pegasus has helped them find hope during some of the most difficult moments in their lives.

One client shared:

“I was in a really bad place when I started counselling. The support I received helped me start rebuilding my life.”

Another client wrote:

“The help I received has been amazing. Having someone outside my normal circle to talk to made a huge difference.”

Stories like these remind us how important it is to ensure men can access support when they need it most.

What Your Support Will Do

With your help, Pegasus can:

• Provide accessible counselling sessions for men who cannot afford private therapy
• Expand mental health services and reach more men in the community
• Support men facing crisis, trauma and emotional distress
• Reduce waiting times so men can access help when they reach out
• Continue breaking the stigma around men speaking openly about mental health

Every contribution helps ensure that men who are struggling have somewhere safe to turn.

Even small donations can make a meaningful difference:

£10 could help provide wellbeing resources for someone seeking support
£15 could contribute towards a room hire for a counselling session

£30 could contribute towards a counselling session
£50 could help fund professional mental health support for someone in need

Why This Matters

Mental health struggles affect thousands of men every year. Yet many never reach out for help because they fear judgment or believe they must cope alone.

Pegasus exists to change that.

Our mission is simple: to support and encourage men to overcome challenges, heal from trauma, and achieve their full potential.

Every man who reaches out deserves to be heard.

Help Us Reach £55,000

Your donation will help Pegasus continue providing life-changing support to men who need it most.

Together, we can create a future where every man knows he is not alone.

Every man deserves to live.
