THANK YOU ❤️ | New Mum praises Hereford County Hospital staff after life-threatening birth complication.
A new mum has spoken of her gratitude to the staff at Hereford County Hospital after they saved her life following a serious childbirth complication.
Emily was admitted to Hereford County Hospital on 27 July to be induced with her daughter, Daisy. After Daisy was born on 29 July, Emily suffered a severe postpartum haemorrhage, losing more than three litres of blood.
She was rushed into emergency surgery after doctors discovered a retained placenta and required a blood transfusion. Emily remained in hospital until 1 August while she recovered.
Describing the ordeal as “one of the scariest experiences of my life”, Emily said she wanted to share her story not as a complaint, but as a heartfelt thank you to the NHS staff who cared for her and her newborn daughter.
“I feel like the NHS gets so much negativity lately, and I wanted to share a positive story about the incredible staff at Hereford County Hospital,” she said.
“Every single person who cared for me and Daisy was absolutely amazing. There are too many people to thank individually, but their quick thinking, kindness and professionalism got me through the worst day of my life.”
Emily said the dedication and expertise of the hospital team meant that both she and Daisy were able to return home safely together.
“Because of them, both Daisy and I are home together,” she added.
She hopes sharing her experience will help recognise the work NHS staff carry out every day, often under immense pressure.
“I just thought it might be a nice story to share to recognise the amazing work the NHS staff do every single day.”
The story serves as a reminder of the life-saving care provided by NHS teams and the difference their compassion and professionalism can make during some of the most challenging moments families face.
