It is often the silly things that make us want to explode or that cause the explosion of anger or tears.

You are late for work, you lost the keys , spill the coffee, trip over the cat and then your bag or heel snaps.

Someone takes the time to post an update in a group chat but have relied on a third party to tell you and you feel left out or hard done by.

The little thing is just the last thing on a pile of niggles that has to give. You may be someone who has to rant or someone who cries or perhaps you pause breathe and move on. Whichever it is be kind to yourself.

PS Today's lunar eclipse maybe to blame.

I am deeply honoured and humbled to have been elected President of the Spiritualists’ National Union.

I want to thank everyone who took the time to vote, and especially those who placed their trust in me. I am grateful to every church, centre, and individual member who engaged with this election and shared their thoughts, hopes, and concerns for the future of our Union.

Throughout this campaign I have spoken about clarity, collaboration, and commitment. Now the real work begins.

I will endeavour to serve with integrity, humility, and openness, and will work to bring our churches, centres, members, volunteers, and leadership together around a shared vision for the future.

The responsibility that comes with this role is clear to me, and I will not take your confidence in me for granted.

My faith in God and the guidance of Spirit will continue to shape my approach to service, as I work for the good of the Spiritualists’ National Union and the Spiritualist movement we all care so deeply about.

Thank you for your trust.

Change is scary, especially when it was not something you chose but also when it promises change.

As the news that the Spiritualist National Union has voted to elect a new President filters through there will be a lot of people who are worried.

They will worry if they did the right thing whichever way they voted. They will worry about any position they hold within the organisation and for any churches they serve.

Where things have been said in anger or haste how do they move forward?

I am not a member of the SNU but I serve their churches. WHY? because the churches serve spirit just as much as any with other affiliation or independent status do.

We watch from outside what happens inside because it matters. Arthur Findlay who owned Stansted Hall had bequeathed it to the SNU [which itself was formed in 1901] to become a college. Opening almost exactly sixty years ago on September 17th 1966 Its aim was to provide training for mediums and speakers. The SNU gives access to training to people from around the globe including foreign students who would perhaps struggle to find any training in their country.

However as with all big organisations overtime there are and have been times of discord. There will be again it is the nature of change.

I wish the new President good luck. I will also share her acceptance post so you can peruse it should you wish too.

It seems only right as I end this to ask our father and mother God to watch over all of us who work for spirit and to guide our thoughts and deeds as we strive to do our best to prove life continues beyond death and to further the work of spirit. So mote it be.
