📢 A Quick Update from Minerva Clinical Services

We’re currently short staffed and experiencing a very high workload.

This morning, we have had to temporarily close the pharmacy until the rest of our team arrives. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Unfortunately, we’re also struggling to answer the phone as quickly as we’d like, so thank you for your patience and understanding.

💊 Please allow at least 5 working days (7 days in total) from the day you request your repeat prescription before coming to collect it. This allows:
• Up to 3 working days for your GP surgery to process your request and issue the prescription.
• A further 2 working days for our team to receive the prescription, order any required stock, dispense it and complete the final accuracy checks.

If your prescription isn’t urgently needed today, we’d be grateful if you could collect it tomorrow or another day, helping us prioritise patients who need their medicines more urgently.

🚚 We have also experienced failed medicine deliveries due to camp road closure, leaving us temporarily short of stock on some items. Unfortunately, this may lead to additional delays while we source medicines.

Please bear with us during this exceptionally busy period. We are working as hard as we can to ensure everyone receives their medication as quickly and safely as possible.

We’re pleased to let you know that Minerva Clinical Services is now open and operating as normal.

Thank you for your patience, understanding and kind messages while we were temporarily closed due to unforeseen pharmacist availability.

🦟 Been bitten? We’re seeing LOTS of insect bites around Heyford Park right now!

With the warmer weather and more time outdoors, insect bites are on the rise, and some can become infected.

If you were bitten more than 48 hours ago and your symptoms are getting worse, come and see us at Minerva Clinical Services under the NHS Pharmacy First service.

🚩 Signs your insect bite may be infected:
• Increasing redness or swelling
• Pain or tenderness
• Warmth around the bite
• Pus or discharge
• Feeling generally unwell

Our pharmacist can assess you and, if appropriate, provide treatment, including prescription medicine, without needing to see a GP.
