A huge thank you to the team at H&A for their incredible support of Wellspring!

Last Saturday, members of the team took on a challenging walk from Scarborough Castle to Whitby Abbey, raising an amazing £4,000 (plus Gift Aid).

Fundraising efforts like this make a real difference, helping us continue to provide vital counselling and wellbeing support to those who need it most.

This June, we’re welcoming practitioners, counsellors, psychotherapists and therapeutic professionals to Wellspring House for a series of immersive Sandtray training workshops. 💙

If you’re completely new to Sandtray practice or looking to deepen your existing therapeutic approach, these sessions are designed to offer practical insight and creative exploration in a supportive environment.

We often say things like, “I just want to feel like myself again.”

But what does that actually mean?

For some, it’s:
👉Feeling more present in everyday moments
👉Having the energy to engage with life
👉Laughing more easily
👉Feeling calmer in your own mind

For others, it might be harder to remember what that feels like.

Looking after your mental health can sometimes be about gently finding your way back to a version of yourself that feels more like home, rather than trying to fix something that feels broken. And that looks different for everyone.

This week is Mental Health Awareness week, and this year, the theme is Action.

Good mental health isn’t built by awareness alone, but by the small things we do every day.

👉 Checking in on a friend.
👉 Listening without trying to fix.
👉 Asking for help when things feel heavy.

At Wellspring, we see every day how powerful these small actions can be. A single conversation can be the first step toward hope and change.

Today is National Children's Day in the UK, and it's an important reminder that every child deserves to feel safe, heard and understood. 🩵

Our therapists see first-hand how powerful the right support at the right time can be. Through our children’s art therapy, young people who may struggle to put feelings into words can express themselves in a way that feels natural, creative and safe.

Sadly, we also know that many children in our community are still waiting for help.

We are eternally grateful to the donors, funders and supporters who make our work possible. Because of you, children are finding their voices, rebuilding confidence, and beginning to feel hopeful again.

With the help of more support, we hope to increase our capacity, reach more families, and train more therapists so that fewer children are left waiting.

A group of us are taking on the longest of the Nidderdale walk routes, a full 26 miles!!, on Sunday 17th May to raise money for the charity we are proud to work for, Wellspring Therapy & Training.

Wellspring is a Mental Health Charity providing affordable counselling and education. It’s a cause that means a great deal to each of us.

We have already completed a training walk, which gifted us a few blisters, but didn’t dent our spirit! We are heading into the big day feeling excited and ready, with just a touch of healthy apprehension, 26 mile is a long way! But knowing we are raising money for a cause close to our hearts will hopefully keep us moving every step of the way.

We know times are tough for many right now, but if you are able to spare even a small amount, it would mean the world to us, and make a difference to the people Wellspring supports.
