People often don’t realise that they are suffering from post concussion syndrome. The neck pain, headaches, foggy mind, visual issues and brain fog can often get put down to something else and the concussion you had (which didn’t necessarily mean knocking you out either) was long forgotten. If you know someone who is still struggling years down the line then pass this on. Results are really encouraging. And building on years of work in the US.

Only about 20% of my practice is with babies. Clients are so varied from neck, head and jaw pain to PTSD and grief. That’s what makes my jobs so varied and inspiring. Peoples stories are so rich. I love my work. I wouldn’t want to do anything else. 😃

One of the things we often hear is 'Oh CranioSacral Therapy - that's the one for babies, right?'

Well yes, but not JUST for babies.

It's for people of all ages.

From supporting someone recovering from injury to helping regulate the nervous system during periods of stress, the applications are broad because every treatment is tailored to the individual.

CranioSacral Therapy works by supporting the body's natural ability to find balance.

Every person arrives with a different story, and every session is unique.

Love this! So true. It’s all in the listening. CST enables you to be with another person in such a different and empowering way. Try it! You might be surprised!

One of the things I love most about CranioSacral Therapy is that it reminds us to listen differently. 👂

One of the most fascinating aspects of CST training is learning to recognise communication that isn't verbal.

Changes in tension.

Changes in breathing.

Changes in stillness.

Changes in attention.

Often the body tells us a great deal before words or our clients ever do. It's one reason so many practitioners describe CST as changing not only how they work, but how they listen.

At any level of sport, the focus isn't just on the injury itself.

It's also about what happens afterwards.

How does the body recover?

How quickly do symptoms settle?

How does the nervous system regain balance and resilience?

These are questions that matter not only for professional athletes, but for anyone recovering from a concussion, accident or injury.

At Upledger, we're particularly interested in what happens when symptoms don't disappear as quickly as expected. CranioSacral Therapy is a gentle, hands-on approach that many people explore as part of their recovery journey, particularly when they continue to experience challenges long after the initial injury.

🧠 Recovery isn't always just about the moment of impact, and the next few weeks afterwards.

This explains beautifully how a client can sometimes during a somatoemotional release (SER) process experience something that is then felt by someone else (a loved one or relative) miles away from them. It’s not magic. It’s science. And it’s wonderful!

So sometimes you forget about the concussion you have a few months back or even a year ago and don’t link your current sleep difficulties, brain fog, headaches to what happened then. But post concussion syndrome is a thing! Get in touch to find out more.

🧠 One of the biggest myths around concussion
is that you have to be knocked unconscious to have it.

The reality is that most people who experience a concussion never lose consciousness at all.

Which means it's surprisingly easy for symptoms to be missed, dismissed or explained away.

"You're probably just tired - rest up and you’ll feel better soon."

"Maybe you're stressed."

"Give it a few more weeks."

And yet people can still be dealing with headaches, dizziness, brain fog, poor sleep and concentration difficulties long after the original injury.

One of the ways you can help in relieving these symptoms, and hopefully get you back on the track to further recovery is CranioSacral Therapy (CST).

We have therapists all over the country (in fact all over the world!) who may be able to help on a one-to-one basis.

And, if you, or someone you love, is struggling with persistent Post Concussion symptoms that have been hard to help - and you’ve tried a whole list of things to little avail - then maybe you’ll be interested in this:

We’re running a rare, intensive CST programme (over 5 days, this November), where we’ll have multiple sessions, over multiple days, with multiple therapists… We’ve already shown that this can help people with these longer term head injury symptoms.

Forward this post or find out all about it here: upledgerprogrammes.org.uk/concussion-programme

This is so true. You never know how the body will express what appears to be the same clinical diagnosis. Ever body is unique and wonderful.

When you've been practising CranioSacral Therapy for a while, you’ll definitely notice this:
Two clients can come in, with the same medical diagnosis, and yet their body will respond to what you do very differently.

Why is this?

Because their body will have had a totally different life. We all experience different knocks, injuries or traumatic events and we all store or compensate for them differently.

With CranioSacral Therapy we learn to listen - with our hands - to the precise ways that the body is doing this, and how to follow the body’s own plan to release and change things one step at a time.

Would you like to learn how to know exactly where to start in a session, and how to get to the root of an issue?

Come and do some training with us - you’ll learn a hugely effective and probably unexpected, step by step way to do this throughout our classes!

Two clients, perhaps with the same medical diagnosis, different sessions, every time.

We are running a programme specifically for concussion in November in Brighton. Did you know disturbance in sleep patterns is linked to head trauma. You may not have joined the two up.

The Myodural Bridge is an area, prone to injury that can affect our brain function and therefore our health and wellbeing. CST works gently to release any deeply held tension to improve fluid flow and reconnect heart and mind.
