πŸŽ‰ Schools Out – Summer Has Officially Begun! β˜€οΈπŸŒ΄

With the school holidays now here, many families will be travelling or enjoying days out. A little preparation can help keep everyone safe and healthy this summer.

Before you go:
βœ… Make sure you have enough of your regular medication to last your trip – order repeat prescriptions in good time.
βœ… Pack a basic first aid kit, including pain relief, plasters, antiseptic cream, insect repellent, and sunscreen.
βœ… Stay hydrated, especially during hot weather.
βœ… Protect your skin by using sunscreen, wearing a hat, and seeking shade during the hottest part of the day.
βœ… Check if you need any travel vaccinations or health advice well before you travel.
βœ… Remember to carry any important medical information with you.

If you're staying in the UK:
🌞 Keep cool during hot weather.

πŸ’š Samaritans Awareness Day – 24 July 2026 πŸ’š

Today, we recognise Samaritans Awareness Day, a time to raise awareness of the vital support Samaritans provide to people experiencing emotional distress or struggling to cope.

A simple conversation can make a real difference. By checking in with friends, family, neighbours, or colleagues, we can help create a community where people feel heard, supported, and never alone.

If you or someone you know is finding things difficult, remember that help is available. Reaching out is a sign of strength, and no one has to face life's challenges on their own.

Let's continue to break the stigma around mental health, encourage open conversations, and remind everyone that support is always within reach.

πŸ’š Together, we can help make sure no one has to struggle alone.

What a busy and inspiring weekend it's been for the lovely EMC team! πŸ’™

A huge congratulations to our two Sarahs from the dispensary, who took on the Alzheimer's Trek 26 in the Peak District! πŸ₯Ύβ›°οΈ

They completed an incredible 26 miles, clocked up an amazing 63,579 steps, and finished in just over 10Β½ hours, all while raising over Β£1,200 for a fantastic cause. What an outstanding achievement – we're so proud of you both! πŸ’œπŸ‘

On the same evening, four more members of our team – Jan, Jane, Bex and Karen – joined 3,500 others for the Ashgate Sparkle Night Walk around Chesterfield in support of the incredible Ashgate Hospice. βœ¨πŸ’š

Together, the girls raised over Β£500 to help support the amazing work the hospice does in our community.

Congratulations to you all! Your dedication, kindness and fundraising efforts are truly inspiring, and everyone at EMC is incredibly proud of what you've achieved. β€οΈπŸ‘
