We are incredibly grateful to the family of a former resident for their generous gift of a dementia activity board.

Sometimes, the most meaningful gifts are those that continue to bring comfort, engagement, and joy to others. This beautifully crafted board will provide valuable support for residents living with dementia and other cognitive conditions, offering opportunities for sensory exploration, cognitive stimulation, and meaningful activity.

By interacting with familiar everyday objects such as locks, latches, switches, and spinners, residents can engage their minds, maintain fine motor skills, and experience a sense of purpose and achievement. These simple activities can also help reduce anxiety, promote relaxation, and spark memories of everyday life.

At Kara Healthcare, we understand the importance of person-centred dementia care, and resources like this play a vital role in supporting wellbeing and independence.

There’s something truly special about working with flowers—the colours, the fragrances, and the opportunity to create something beautiful with your own hands.

Our residents recently enjoyed a flower arranging session, carefully selecting and arranging blooms into stunning displays that brightened both the room and their day. Beyond being a creative activity, flower arranging encourages self-expression, supports fine motor skills, and provides a wonderful opportunity for conversation, reminiscence, and relaxation.

The pride on our residents' faces as they admired their finished arrangements was a lovely reminder that meaningful activities can bring joy, confidence, and a sense of achievement.
