Magic filled the air at Grove House!

Last Saturday our wonderful residents put on a fantastic choir performance for their families and friends. We are so incredibly proud of everyone who took part!
We want to say a massive THANK YOU to Anne & Sally. Thank you for your excellent work and for committing to our residents week after week. You invest your whole heart and soul into these singing sessions and truly bring magic into our home.

Our creative residents have been hard at work taking turns crafting a beautiful, page-by-page scrapbook to look back on our Abbeyfield 70th anniversary celebration!
Going through all the photographs has brought back so many wonderful smiles. It has been a lovely afternoon of reminiscing, storytelling and sharing memories of that special day.
We are close to completing this masterpiece! Once it is finished, it will be kept on display for all our visitors, families, and staff to enjoy and look through.

Yesterday, our residents brought their A-game for a super exciting round of carpet bowls. Things got competitive as everyone showed off their skills in this fun, active game!
Huge congratulations to Chris, who took home a well-deserved win – we are so incredibly proud of you!
After all that action, we cooled down the best way we know how ... with a warm cup of tea, some biscuits, and a trip down memory lane listening to our favorite familiar tunes.

Our residents had a very busy and wonderful day out last Thursday!
We started our morning exploring the beautiful, historic Salts Mill, followed by a lovely coffee and catch-up at the Salts Diner.
Next, we headed over to Roberts Park for a sunny picnic and a peaceful stroll around the grounds. To top off a perfect day, we made a pit stop on the way home at the iconic Cow and Calf Rocks on Ilkley Moor for a delicious ice cream!

Our residents became creators for an afternoon, each taking on different tasks and letting their creativity shine. Together, we started creating a beautiful album filled with photographs from the 70th Anniversary party to be lasting memory of our celebrations.
This is just the beginning of a lovely project that we will be working on together over next few weeks to preserve these precious moments.

What a start to Monday morning! The residents really got their gears turning with nine-letter word puzzle challenge. Everyone had to create as many words as possible from letter grid, with the twist that every single word had to include the letter “E”.
There were so much energy, laughter, and healthy competition in the room as everyone shouted out their answers.

Our wonderful residents enjoyed a fantastic walk around Ilkley town yesterday!
There was non-stop chatting as we scrolled along the streets, taking plenty of time to admire the beautiful shop window displays. To top off a perfect afternoon, everyone got treated to a delicious ice cream!
