Laura and Eilidh, recceing the venue for the and preloved clothes sale - Inverness Town House. All set for the 26th September and genuinely excited.

First year we’ve had the sale here, and we’re a bit giddy about it if we’re honest. Stained glass, chandeliers, all that beautiful old wood - feels like a real privilege to get to use a space like this for the day.

Fourth year running the sale itself, though, and walking round always makes it feel real. Rails going here, bakes there, our main sponsor Prickly Thistle’s stall right by the window 🤩

Every penny raised goes towards Pay It Forward counselling with HWC and RASASH’s vital services. £10 on the door, redeemable against clothes - so it’s really just the price of a coffee to come and dig through some genuinely good finds.

Sat 26 Sept, 10am–1pm. Come shop, snack, relax - and give something a second life while you’re at it.

Yes - we are back with another offering for you 🌿

Less than 24 hours after sharing our Wired to Work post, here’s another funded offering - this time for folk living in Foyers and Stratherrick.

We’ll be honest: we’ve been fortunate to secure support from a few different funds this year. But it hasn’t always looked like this. There were over two years of rejections before we got here, and we’re still running on limited volunteer leadership. We share that not for sympathy - just so you know this stuff takes time, and it’s worth staying in it.

But anyways - here is the info:

This one is outdoor counselling - walk and talk, in the fresh Highland air. Not a zoom call, not a waiting room. Just you, your counsellor, and some space to breathe. Funding is for 12 sessions, so there’s no cost to you.

We only have 54spaces currently available, for adults (16+) living in Foyers and Stratherrick. That’s it. So if this feels relevant - for you or someone you know - please get in touch as soon as you can. We’ll do our best to allocate fairly.

Drop us an email: [email protected]

Funded by Foundation Scotland 🧡

A few weeks ago we teased something coming - well here it is:

Wired to Work is a business support programme for neurodivergent founders, freelancers and small business owners across the Highlands. Built around how you actually work - not how business support usually assumes you do.

Fully funded, no cost to you.

Seven in-person sessions at The Treehouse, one-to-one mentorship, coaching and counselling throughout, and a business plan you’ve actually tested — not just written.

Places are limited, so it stays a small group where everyone gets real attention.

Applications close 25th August. Programme starts 11th September.

Ever feel like you’re doing all the right things - but still running on empty?

We ran our Feel Good Science workshop at Belladrum this year and it seemed to resonate with some folk. So we’ve made the full resource available to download free, on our website.

Here’s the short version: your brain runs on four feel-good systems. Dopamine, oxytocin, serotonin, endorphins: D.O.S.E. Research tells us they have far more influence over our daily energy, mood, and motivation than most of us realise.

It’s not about having loads of all four. It’s about balance. When one system runs low, everything costs more. When they’re working together, the same tasks feel lighter.

The resource helps you figure out which one needs a top-up - and gives you simple, practical ways to do that. Five pages. A daily check-in, a feel-good bingo, nervous system reminders. Stuff hopefully you’ll actually use.

Free download on our resource page - link in bio 🌿
If you check it out, and download it, let us know if you found it helpful x

One week to go until we are at Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival 🥳

This year, Highland Well-Ness Collective will be at Belladrum for the first time, part of Well in the Dell - a brand new wellbeing space tucked into the wooded Dell on the Belladrum Estate. Somewhere to slow down, breathe, and feel a bit more like yourself between sets.

We won’t be the only ones in there either. The Dell is full of brilliant people doing brilliant things - from Highland Mindfulness and Highland PEEP to W I L L O W & B L U E offering lots of activities including barre with the lovely Rachael Barre , Horsebox Sauna and mobile massage, and plenty more!

We are chuffed to share that Highland Well-Ness Collective has been shortlisted for Charitable Organisation of the Year at this year’s Highland Business Women Awards - and Laura | LJS Projects also been shortlisted for Businesswoman of the Year.

We are truly honoured.

So much of this work happens quietly - in counselling rooms, on grant applications at midnight, in conversations that never make it onto a page. To have it seen and shortlisted means more than we can put into words.

None of this happens alone. Thank you to our board, for the steadiness and belief that’s carried HWC through some hard, uncertain stretches. And to our wider team and associates, especially Kate Thomson, whose work with clients reflects everything HWC stands for. This shortlisting belongs to all of you.

And then there’s the rest of the list. Every year the Highland Business Women Awards remind you just how much is happening across this region - quietly, determinedly, brilliantly. So many names on that shortlist are doing extraordinary things, and it’s lovely to see colleagues and friends nominated too.

Across every category there are people building things that matter: new businesses finding their feet, charities holding communities together, teams and individuals going quietly above and beyond. Congratulations to every single person and organisation named - it’s a genuine privilege to be on a list with you!
