As the Aus/ NZ trip draws to a close, I’m looking forward to getting home to get into cattle scanning again! Although I will miss the sunshine 😂 ☀️ 🐄

I hope to have the full schedule arranged by the middle of August and will be in touch with everyone with proposed dates. This is to allow for better forward planning and anyone let me know ahead of time if certain dates don’t suit.

Unless I have contacted anyone directly to look to change scanning dates, I’m aiming to be in all the usual spots the same time as last year.

If anyone would like to confirm any dates sooner, please get in touch.

Scott Drever has renewed his passport and will be allowed to gain entry to Mainland Scotland from next week from the Wilds of Orkney!

If any of my clients need cattle scanned towards the end of next week, I’m still in the southern hemisphere so please give me a message or message Scott directly to arrange.

Don’t miss out as it’s never long before local authorities catch up with Scott and send him back to Orkney and I won’t be scanning again until end of August.

A pertinent reminder of the importance of bull testing!

This semen sample is from a bull that has worked well in previous years that has no abnormal findings on external physical examination.

On internal examination, an inflamed vesicular gland was identified and the bulls sample was grossly abnormal- lumpy containing bacteria and white blood cells.

This bull is classed as subfertile and currently unsuitable for breeding. It is important that this problem was identified before bulling!
