Store closed until further notice
Specsavers Irvine will be closed due to a fire through the night at the forum centre. This has affected the Rivergate which means we aren’t able to open at the moment. When we know more information we will put a new post on.

Spring is here….. and so is the pollen!

We understand that hayfever can cause huge discomfort for your eyes.

For anyone who is struggling, eye drops for dry eyes can provide some relief as they flush pollen from the surface of your eyes.

Following the advice from the latest Scottish government alert that it is not safe to drive from 10am on Friday 24th Jan and to avoid coastal areas, we will be closed for the safety of all staff and patients.

For any emergency eyecare needs patients should contact NHS 24.

We plan to be back open as usual from 9am on Saturday 25th January.

Specsavers Irvine Enhances Service with £25,000 Investment in State-of-the-Art Technology

Specsavers Irvine has made a major step forward in improving its service to customers by investing £25,000 into expanding and upgrading its on-site laboratory at the Rivergate Shopping Centre. This investment is part of the store’s ongoing commitment to providing high-quality, speedy optical services.

The funds have been used to purchase state-of-the-art lens-making equipment, enabling the store to offer a same-day glasses service for customers. The new technology streamlines the process of creating prescription lenses, ensuring customers can get their glasses as quickly as possible.

In addition to the equipment, the investment has increased the size of the lab and created a new technician role to enhance the store’s capacity to meet growing demand. This expansion ensures the team can serve more customers needing glasses following their routine eye tests.

The latest investment builds on a significant £350,000 upgrade made to the store last year, which bolstered its facilities for vital eye health and audiology services.

Gordon Simpson, Store Director at Specsavers Irvine, said:
“We are always looking for opportunities to expand our offering and improve the service we provide to the people of Irvine. This £25,000 investment in our lab has allowed us to increase our capacity to create prescription lenses tailored to customers’ needs quickly and efficiently.

“The new technology makes the process faster and simpler, ensuring people get their glasses as soon as possible, helping them continue their day without vision issues. We’re also thrilled to grow our lab team, who will benefit from the guidance of our experienced Lab Manager, Steven Brown, who brings 18 years of technician expertise to the role.”
