What helps you clear your head?

For some people, it’s a walk.
For others, it’s painting, gaming, gardening, cooking, fixing things, reading, crafting, music, being outdoors — or just having ten quiet minutes with a brew.

At True North Collective, we believe shared interests and simple activities can be a powerful way to bring people together.

You don’t always need a big conversation to feel better. Sometimes it starts with doing something you enjoy, being around good people, and having somewhere to show up.

So we’d love to know:

What hobby, activity or place helps you clear your head?

Drop yours in the comments — it might even inspire a future TNC group.

TNC is about connection, purpose, wellbeing and community.

That might sound simple, but we think it matters.

For a lot of people, especially men, the hardest part isn’t always asking for help — it’s finding somewhere that feels natural to walk into in the first place.

That’s why True North Collective is growing around shared interests, activities and meaningful groups. Things like walking, tabletop games, firepit evenings, practical projects, creative sessions, skills workshops and spaces where people can simply spend time with others.

Because sometimes wellbeing doesn’t start with a big conversation.

Sometimes it starts with showing up, doing something you enjoy, meeting decent people, and slowly feeling part of something again.

Over time, we’ll be building groups and activities that help people connect, build confidence, find purpose and access deeper support where it’s needed.

This is the heart of TNC:

Connection first. Purpose through activity. Wellbeing through community.

Hello from True North Collective 👋

You may have noticed this page has been quiet for a while — but behind the scenes, TNC has been changing, growing and finding a clearer direction.

Our focus is simple: bringing people together through shared interests, meaningful activities and wellbeing-focused spaces.

Not everyone wants to walk straight into something called a “support group”. Sometimes the first step is much easier than that. It might be going for a walk, joining a hobby group, learning a skill, sitting around a firepit, playing tabletop games, getting involved in a practical project, or just having a brew with decent people.

That’s the direction we’re heading in.

TNC is building social and activity-based groups where people can connect, build confidence, feel part of something, and find their footing again. Some of our work will continue to focus especially on men’s wellbeing, but our wider aim is to create grounded, welcoming spaces for people who value respect, responsibility, connection and community.

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be sharing more about who we are, what we’re planning, and how people can get involved.

For now, we’d love you to stick around, follow the page, share our posts, and help us spread the word.

Connection first. Support when it’s needed. Community at the heart of it.

đŸŽ¶ What's Your Most Cryptic Crimbo Cracker? đŸŽ¶

So here we go again—
Bublé's baritone assault,
John Lewis flogging sentiment
like it's not their fault.
Same old sonic sedatives,
predictable as debt.

This year I'm after contraband—
the stuff you won't forget.
Gimme your Christmas contraventions,
your yuletide irregularities,
the tracks that slipped through Santa's net
and landed in your psyche's lost property.
Forgotten B-sides, genre crimes,
something played on battered decks
in bedsits where the fairy lights
short-circuit like your self-respect.

The weirder, the worthier.
The stranger, the stronger.
Surprise me. Move me.
Make this season last a little longer.

BUT LISTEN—

Christmas ain't all glitter and goodwill.
For some it's isolation's sharpest chill,
a calendar of dread,
ghosts that won't stay dead,
memories that ambush you
when you're just trying to keep your head.

If that's you—if it's all too much—
you're not alone in this festive crush.

Music's one way we stay connected—

we're all beautifully defected.

Sending warmth to anyone who needs it—
because surviving December
is its own kind of achievement.

Its been a very busy week!!

It’s been one of those wonderfully full weeks where all the different parts of my work life seem to overlap — each bringing its own energy, challenge, and reward. Balancing my private psychotherapy practice has kept me on my toes — supporting new and existing clients, navigating the inevitable...
