This weekend, Emma and a group of her friends took to the streets for the marathon as part of a relay team, raising money for - a service that played a central role in saving her friend’s life after a car accident 12 years ago.

The atmosphere throughout the day was incredible. The crowds, the support, and the sense of people coming together to celebrate every single step made the event feel so special - just as much a part of the day as the 15,000 runners themselves. What a celebration of the training and hard work the runners had made.

There was a phenomenal turnout for so many amazing charities, and it was truly heartwarming to witness what can be achieved when people come together for causes that matter so deeply.

Meet… HUGO! 🐶

Our little therapy dog in training. Here’s a few fun facts for you about him-

1. He’s the only person in our team who seems to sleep through meetings (And snores. Loudly.)
2. He has more clothes and outfits than the average human
3. He loooooooooves exploring our new massive garden, and helps us with checking for anything exciting before our outdoor therapy sessions (like a fly he can chase!)
4. When he has a bath or shower and his fur gets wet he looks the size of a hamster 🐹

He is learning to be around our new Juniper Treehouse studio, so for the moment won’t be in any sessions, but you might see him around if you visit! 👋

We’re so excited to launch our very first therapy group in our new clinic space! 🌿

✨ No diagnosis needed
✨ No referral needed
✨ Small therapy group
✨ Individual summary sheet (including recommendations) on conclusion of the sessions

Roots and Shoots is designed for EYFS and Key Stage 1 children, helping them build the essential foundations for learning - academically, socially, and physically.

Led by Occupational Therapist Rachel and supported by qualified teacher Jenn, this group uses our beautiful indoor and outdoor spaces to create fun, engaging opportunities to support development through a Sensory Integration approach - helping children make sense of the world and thrive in school.

🙆 Reception - Year 2 children
🗓 7 Week Block (Summer 2 Term)
📅 Wednesday's 4.30-5.15pm, 3rd June. - 15th July
🥤 Refreshments provided

Today is the day, after 5 wonderful years we hand back the keys to our first home! 🔑

When we opened our first clinic, our sessions were with PPE face masks, aprons and gloves, it was only Joy, Nick and Emma, the first room fitted out was the Sensory Integration frame, and the last were the boring bits (you know, desks! 😂).

Despite all of the COVID challenges, we loved having our home- after 3 years of being Juniper Tree Therapy, it meant we could offer a safe space for clients outside of school or what we could fit in the boot of our car. We could offer training, family sessions, therapy, coffee mornings, EHCP meetings.

Thank you for everyone who has visited us here- we’ve taken all of the best bits with us to our new Juniper TreeHouse and we can’t wait to welcome you 🏡

An update from what's been happening in the mix of 2026!

We turned 8 in March - celebrating with our wonderful team of 8, each playing a vital role in the work we do. And now, after 5 happy years in Alwoodley, we’re ready to “repot” and grow into a new home at Mortec Park, LS15!

We’re so excited for this next chapter, with more space, new therapy rooms, and new services on the way. Thank you for being part of our journey 💛

We're pleased to share that Nick and Emma will be contributing to the Sensory Attachment Intervention 2026 Conference, in Belfast this June!

Alongside their colleagues in the SAI Training Team, Emma and Nick will be speaking as part of the two-day event, which includes a programme of inspiring and informative sessions.

We are looking forward to seeing our professional colleagues there and sharing in this opportunity to meet, connect and learn as a part of the SAI community.
