Calvert Lakes are celebrating their 50th birthday with an open day today. There’s lots going on and loads to do. Activities are open to all and free to take part - see their post for details.

It's our Open Day tomorrow and we have LOTS planned!

For all those attending, please note there is no parking on site at Calvert Lakes, unless you're a Blue Badge holder. Park in Dodd Wood Car Park (parking charges apply) and take the short signposted 5 minute walk. Our marshals will be on hand to show you the way.

Come find us at the Welcome Desk on arrival and we'll help book activities, hand out maps and let you know what to find where.

We can't wait to celebrate our 50th birthday with you all!

(Please note, we are a dog free site, apart from guidance, assistance or therapy dogs.)

What a great way to start the day doddling up Dodd for the Big Give Christmas Challenge. At 6am this morning Femke and Jo (not Ripple effect Jo - she had small human commitments) from Calvert Lakes headed up Dodd to add the vertical meters to the Everesting total.

The whole Calvert crew had been busy right through the night with some amazing teams braving the elements for our Big Give Christmas Challenge. It's a Doddle!

This week, every donation made through the Big Give website is DOUBLED and every penny goes to helping people with disabilities access adventures here in the beautiful Lake District.

New uniform in the pool today! Our lovely branded and named T-shirts have arrived. We think they look great 🙌🏻

Our very own incredible Jo is powering herself through an absolutely epic challenge! She is using her love of being in water and her incredible strength and determination to raise money for

Over 3 weeks she is aiming to swim the length of the lakes in the Lake District. Yes the LENGTH not the width 😱

Yesterday she completed the whopper, Windermere at 16km!!! 🙌🏻

She has also completed:
Coniston Chillswim last Saturday
Monday - Buttermere and Crummock in the wind and waves
Tuesday - Grasmere and Rydal navigating weeds, branches and silt
Thursday - Loweswater in the mizzle and rain

Will our Aquatic Therapy session help her recover enough to complete Wast Water and Derwent water later this week?

Meet the team! 👋

We are Jo Dixon and Femke Van Schelven. Both of us are specialist neurological physiotherapists with lots of experience in helping clients living with neurological conditions. We’ve both worked in the NHS for many years and in a wide range of neurological services, but more recently worked together at Calvert Reconnections, where our shared love of active and innovative rehab brought us together.

We’re excited to be launching our new aquatic physiotherapy service based in the exceptional Calvert Lakes hydrotherapy pool. 💦
