Over the next couple of months, you may be contacted by the surgery to arrange an Enhanced Review Appointment.
These appointments are with a senior GP and last approximately 45 minutes. They provide an opportunity to discuss your medical history, current health concerns and any ongoing medical conditions, helping us to develop a personalised plan for your future care.

If we are unable to reach you by telephone, we will send you a text message explaining the reason for our call and inviting you to contact the surgery to arrange your appointment.

Missed Appointments – September

At Nene Valley Surgery, we are sad to report that 102 appointments were missed during September.

These appointments included blood tests, wound care and valuable GP consultations, all of which play an important role in supporting the health and wellbeing of our patients.

We understand that unexpected circumstances can arise and that attending an appointment is not always possible. However, if you are unable to attend, we kindly ask that you let us know as soon as possible.

Giving us notice allows us to offer your appointment slot to another patient who may need it and helps us rearrange your appointment at the earliest opportunity.

Please help us to help you and our wider patient community by cancelling any appointments you no longer need.

☕💚 Hard work pays off! A huge thank you to our wonderful community! 💚☕

On Saturday 26th September 2026, Nene Valley PPG hosted a coffee morning in support of Macmillan Cancer Support, raising an amazing £274.30! 🎉

A huge thank you to our dedicated PPG members for giving their time, to everyone who donated cakes and refreshments, and to all our lovely patients who came along to support this fantastic cause.

It was wonderful to see friends, old and new, coming together over a cuppa and a slice of cake, sharing conversations and supporting such an important charity. 💚

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who helped make the morning such a success. Every donation makes a difference!

It is with great sadness that we share the funeral arrangements for our much-loved colleague, Karen Toseland.

Karen’s funeral will be held on 1st September at 12pm at:

Kettering Crematorium
Rothwell Road
Kettering
Northamptonshire
NN16 8XE

Karen’s family have kindly advised that anyone who knew Karen and would like to pay their respects is welcome to attend. They have also asked that those attending feel free to wear bright colours in celebration of Karen’s life.

It is with great sadness that we share the news that our much-loved Practice Nurse, Karen Toseland, passed away suddenly on Monday evening.

Karen had been a valued member of our practice team since 2018. During her time with us, she touched the lives of so many patients and colleagues with her kindness, compassion, warmth, and unwavering dedication. She brought so much love and light to our surgery, and her gentle care and friendly smile will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences are with Karen's family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched during this incredibly difficult time.

We know many of our patients will be saddened by this news, and we thank you for your understanding and support as our team comes to terms with this devastating loss.

Karen will always hold a special place in our hearts and will never be forgotten.

🎀 Pretty Muddy Race for Life 5K 🎀

On Saturday 11 July, members of the Nene Valley Surgery team took part in the Pretty Muddy Race for Life 5K at Abington Park in Northampton.

We are incredibly proud of everyone who completed the course and helped raise an amazing £745 for Cancer Research UK.

A huge thank you to everyone who sponsored the team, supported them and helped make the day such a success.
