What masking really looks like...
Many neurodivergent people become experts at hiding struggle. It becomes a coping strategy for many of us, but, at the same time it can be exhausting 😞 😞
Looking “fine” doesn’t always mean feeling fine. Believe it or not we can hide these things really well.
Masking can look like people-pleasing, perfectionism, exhaustion, burnout, anxiety, or constantly second-guessing yourself.
Sometimes the strongest-looking people are carrying the heaviest load.
We want people to feel confident to let the mask drop sometimes, or, even leave it at home from time to time. Be kind to yourself being Neurodivergent has it's challenges, but when you feed into your strengths it can be really powerful and satisfying.
