Have you ever noticed that you speak to yourself in ways you would never speak to someone you love?
Maybe you replay conversations long after they've ended.
You focus on the one thing you got wrong instead of everything you got right.
You find it hard to accept compliments.
Or perhaps no matter how much you achieve, it never quite feels enough.
Many of us live with a harsh internal voice that constantly judges, criticises and pushes us to do more. In psychotherapy, we often call this the inner critic.
But what if that voice isn't who you are?
What if it developed as a way of protecting you?
In my latest blog, I explore where the inner critic comes from, why it feels so convincing, and how understanding it with compassion can be the beginning of developing a kinder relationship with yourself.
If any of this resonates with you, I'd love to hear your thoughts.
