What if one of the most effective ways to improve your health didn't require expensive equipment or hours of training?

The way you breathe influences far more than your lungs. It can affect your energy, sleep, nervous system, resilience, recovery and overall wellbeing.

Laura van Tatenhove believes breathing should be as much a part of everyday health as healthy eating and regular movement.

As Laura says:
"Respiratory health, the way we breathe, is just one of those skills that, if we can get it right, we can make such a difference."

If you'd like practical, evidence-informed breathing techniques that you can use for yourself, your family or your clients, the Better Breathing for Better Health online workshop is an excellent place to start.

On Sunday I was really fortunate to take part in the online pilot of Bowen College UK’s latest cpd course TLC. This is a day long course run by the very experienced (in life matters and course qualifications) Jo Swift. The course is about how to meet our loved ones and our clients as they are at each stage of ageing right up to end of life care. We often shy away from conversations about ageing and death and yet what could be more important than being able to understand the different stages of ageing and illness and learning the skills to create dignified , comfortable, safe and precious spaces for our families and community.

Could a gentler approach help you take back control from migraines?

If you live with migraines, you know they're about far more than "just a headache." They can disrupt work, family life, sleep and the simple pleasure of enjoying your day.

A national migraine study found that nearly 80% of participants reported fewer or less severe migraines after receiving Bowen Therapy.
(Source: Nikke Ariff, National Migraine Research Programme, 2002.)

Rather than forcing the body to change, Bowen Therapy works by encouraging the nervous system to move into a calmer, more restorative state.

This may help to:
âś” Ease stress and muscular tension
âś” Reduce tightness in the neck, shoulders and jaw
âś” Support better sleep and relaxation
âś” Encourage the body's natural ability to regulate itself

Every migraine experience is unique, but for many people, supporting the body as a whole can be an important part of managing symptoms.

If migraines are affecting your quality of life, it may be worth exploring a different approach.
