TAKING PRIDE IN WHERE YOU ARE FROM 💙💛🤍

Three months ago we started a project in the center of Leeds. The location of Penny Pocket Park had gained a reputation for antisocial behaviour and drug use associated with homelessness in the city centre.
We started to nurture the land and people that inhabit the area taking time to get to know those ostracised, marginalised and displaced people that are living on the streets with no abode to call their own.
Tending to the soil we planted seeds together we shared our own experiences of active addiction and in some cases homelessness and the prison system ultimately focusing on the road to Recovery.

Our plants and seeds are continuing to grow and we have created something truly special together. Now those lost without hope have become part of something, part of a community that wants to keep growing. Together we take pride in where we are from and we have something to continue working towards together.
We are always looking for people to get involved and to join a community that wants to prioritise unity and hope over HATE and FEAR 🌱

🌻 Planting seeds of Recovery in the heart of Leeds. 🌻

This week, The Hope Works Project planted over 100 sunflowers in Leeds city centre — and every seed was a symbol of something bigger.

Most of those planting were people experiencing homelessness, marginalised by society. But in that moment, they had something to tend, something to value, something to be proud of. 🌻

As the flowers grow — so does our impact. 🌱

Lived Experience is our greatest tool. It builds trust, breaks down barriers, and creates real community.

We don't photograph people at their lowest. Anonymity allows recovery to become reality.
No faces. Just hands. 🙌

We don't post for clout, likes or followers.
We share what matters:

We are one. We are people. We are making a difference — ending the stigma of addiction and homelessness, one seed at a time.

What a perfect end to an AMAZING week. Today WE made such a difference in Leeds, a grassroots community group coming together to challenge stigma and help promote sustainable recovery.
Humbly working alongside miracles making the city WE LOVE such a better place to live.

The work continues and we are always looking for more members to get involved. We are looking for HUMANS that want to make a difference. You don’t have to be in Recovery from addiction. You could be a family member or affected other or simply someone that cares and wants to help.

We intend to make Leeds an INCLUSIVE RECOVERY CITY and that means that we don’t only want our members to have been directly affected by addiction. We want to involve people that care about community and want to support the mission to challenge stigma. We are looking for HUMANS 🌍
