This week’s goes to the amazing Lee Morris! 🤩

A huge thank you to Lee, one of Rhodri’s close friends, for organising the 10th Rhodri Jones Memorial Beach 5k on Thursday 21st May, and to everyone who came together to support the event 🧡

Together, they raised an amazing £1,050 for the Rhodri Jones Memorial Appeal, a Special Fund of the Bone Cancer Research Trust 🤗

Rhodri was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a form of primary bone cancer, in his pelvis at the age of 19 and sadly passed away just eight months later, aged 20.

Ten years on, this special event continues to bring people together to remember Rhodri, raise awareness and fund vital research into osteosarcoma.

Thank you so much for all your support 🧡

We're proud to be attending the annual EuSARC Conference in Oslo, representing the bone cancer community and joining leading researchers, clinicians and organisations dedicated to advancing sarcoma research and improving outcomes for patients.

The conference provides an invaluable opportunity to share knowledge, foster collaboration and explore the latest innovations in bone cancer biology, treatment and care.

We're also delighted to have supported several early career researchers through our Skills Development Grants, enabling them to attend the conference, share their research, expand their knowledge and network of contacts and bring back this experience to their ongoing bone sarcoma research.

We look forward to connecting with experts from across Europe and contributing to important conversations that will help drive progress in bone cancer research and care.

Thank you once again to Matt Forde, who continues to support our work on every stop of his brilliant tour, Defying Calamity.

In 2023, Matt underwent 13 hour surgery and had to adapt to life with a stoma. In speaking openly about it on stage he continues to inspire so many.

Thanks to the generosity of his fantastic audiences, our running total has now over reached £30,000!

Together, we’re accelerating vital research 🧡

From one inspirational vision to international research progress.

In 2001, Liz Clarke-Saul was just 12 when she was diagnosed with adamantinoma, a rare form of bone cancer. In 2018, the disease returned and had spread to her lungs and spine. Liz then made the extraordinary decision to channel her energy into changing the future for other patients.

In 2019, Liz and her husband Jack set up The Liz Clarke-Saul Fund, creating hope where there had been very little research. Liz passed away in July 2020, but her vision continued and became the foundation for the UK’s first adamantinoma research programme that continues today 🧡

Liz’s legacy is driving real progress through international collaboration, with Jack and Liz’s parents, Jeremy and Lesley, recently visiting Professor Judith Bovée at Universiteit Leiden / Leiden University in the Netherlands to see first-hand how this work is bringing us closer to more accurate diagnosis and better outcomes for patients.
