The Bone Cancer Research Trust is the leading charity dedicated to fighting primary bone cancer.

Our mission is to save lives and improve outcomes for people affected by primary bone cancer through research, information, awareness and support.

Join us for our Leeds Christmas Get Together this December!

Come along for an afternoon of peer support, coffee and cake, and the chance to make local connections with other families and people affected by primary bone cancer or a bone tumour. Family and friends are welcome too.

When: Saturday 5 December
Time: 1pm to 5pm
Where: Cookridge Village Hall, Moseley Wood Lane, Cookridge, Leeds, LS16 7ER

Refreshments and snacks will be provided, and Christmas jumpers are encouraged if you'd like to get into the festive spirit!

Following the success of our last Get Together, we'll also be introducing some friendly faces and event buddies ahead of the day to help everyone feel welcome. Let us know if you want to take part in being a buddy!

🧡 Monday Motivation 🧡

Ten years after being diagnosed with osteosarcoma in her leg, Lindsay and her team, Legs & Co, took on the Thames Bridges Trek and smashed the 10km challenge in just over three hours.

Joined by friends and family, they made it an amazing day filled with determination, support and plenty of smiles along the way.

What a fantastic way to mark such an important milestone. Congratulations to Lindsay and everyone who took part. Your commitment and team spirit are truly inspiring, and you're helping make a difference for everyone affected by bone cancer.

Last Saturday, we came together in Sheffield for our 2026 Bone Cancer Community Conference.

The day was filled with meaningful conversations, new connections, shared experiences, plenty of laughter and emotional moments. Above all, it was a celebration of the strength, support and understanding that makes our bone cancer community so special.

A huge thank you to the researchers who shared their expertise and insights, helping us better understand the latest developments in bone cancer research and care.

We were privileged to hear from members of our community who shared their stories and lived experiences. Your honesty, resilience and openness reminded us that behind every research breakthrough are real people, families and experiences, and why our shared vision of a world where primary bone cancer is cured matters so much.

To everyone who joined us in Sheffield, thank you for being part of such a special day. 🧡

Check out what our amazing fundraisers have been up to.

1. A huge thank you to Matthew for organising a fantastic Golf Day in support of BCRT. The course was a sea of BCRT blue hats, with supporters coming together to raise vital funds and awareness. Thank you to Matthew, Southowram Cricket Club, Willow Valley Golf Club, everyone who took part, and all those who donated. Your support makes a real difference.

2. A massive well done to Megan, who is running the London Marathon for BCRT next April. As part of her training and fundraising journey, Megan took on the Manchester Half Marathon, achieving a personal best time and showing incredible determination along the way. Congratulations, Megan, and good luck with the rest of your training.

3. Thank you to Rachel, who completed the Manchester Half Marathon in memory of Mac. Wearing her BCRT top and carrying an inspiring "What Would Mac Do?" wristband, Rachel crossed the finish line with determination and pride. Thank you for supporting BCRT and honouring Mac in such a meaningful way.

On 8 September 2026, our team was devastated to hear that our dear friend and former colleague, Florence, had passed away.

Flo worked in our Challenge Events team and was dedicated to making sure every supporter felt welcomed, supported and cared for throughout their challenges and beyond. Her kindness, enthusiasm and commitment touched so many people across the bone cancer community.

At a small charity representing a rare cancer, our team extends far beyond our staff team. It includes our community, and following Flo's passing, we were deeply moved by messages from supporters sharing their love for her.

Flo will always have a place in our hearts and in our community. We'll remember her for her warmth, her encouragement, her infectious smile and, of course, those big orange pom poms as she cheered supporters on every step of the way.

She was, is and always will be our Fabulous Flo 🧡

🧡 A huge to the amazing pupils, staff and families at Danetree Primary School, who came together for Zevefest in June in support of their friend and fellow pupil, Zeve.

Our staff were honoured to attend the event, meet Zeve and his family, and witness the incredible community spirit that surrounded him.

Following Zeve's passing, we're especially grateful to members of his community, including Miss Twomey, who recently took on the Royal Parks Half Marathon. Thank you for supporting Bone Cancer Research Trust, raising awareness of primary bone cancer and honouring Zeve's memory.

To everyone who has supported Zeve and his family, thank you. Your compassion, generosity and commitment to raising awareness will leave a lasting impact.
