This Black History Month, we celebrate the richness, diversity and contributions of Black communities🌍✨

Beyond Cancer was founded by women of Black and Caribbean heritage, united by a shared commitment to supporting people affected by cancer. Today, we continue to honour that legacy by building community, raising awareness and working towards a future where everyone has access to the support and care they deserve.

We also recognise that cancer does not affect every community equally. Black communities continue to face inequalities in cancer awareness, experiences of care and outcomes. That is why representation, education, early detection and access to support matter💗

This month, and beyond, we celebrate our heritage, our resilience and the power of coming together to make a difference.

🎀 October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month 🎀

This month, we want to take a moment to remember why Beyond Cancer began.

Beyond Cancer was founded in October 2010 by a group of Black women, brought together by shared experiences, passion and a drive to raise awareness and support others following their own lived experiences of breast cancer 🎗️

From those beginnings came a community built on support, connection, understanding and the belief that no one should have to navigate their journey alone 🫂

As we continue to grow, we never want to lose sight of where we started and the experiences that inspired Beyond Cancer in the first place.

And what better way to celebrate the community that has grown from those beginnings than by coming together? 🥂✨

We’ve moved from our previous church room into a modern, warm and welcoming space, and we look forward to welcoming you all 🫂

Our next wellbeing group is on Friday 25 September, 7–8:30pm 🗓️

💗 June is Cancer Survivor Month 💗

This month, we honour the courage, resilience, and strength of every person whose life has been touched by cancer 🫂

Survivorship looks different for everyone. For some, it’s life after treatment. For others, it’s living with cancer every day. Every journey is valid, and every experience deserves to be acknowledged💖

At Beyond Cancer, we understand that the emotional impact of cancer doesn’t simply end when treatment does. That’s why we’re here to provide a listening ear, compassionate support, and a community where no one has to face their journey alone.

If you’re navigating life during or beyond cancer, please know this:
