If you’ve got knee osteoarthritis…
And it’s starting to affect you more and more…
You may have started to wonder...
“Am I going to need a knee replacement?”
For some people, knee replacement eventually becomes the right option.
But it isn’t necessarily the next step and for many people should be considered after other types of interventions.
At Leeds Joint Injections, we offer a range of ultrasound-guided injection treatments that may be appropriate depending on your symptoms, the severity of your arthritis and your individual goals.
Some of the most popular and effective injection treatments include...
Hyaluronic Acid – Ostenil® Plus
Hyaluronic acid occurs naturally within healthy joints and helps provide lubrication during movement.
With osteoarthritis, the quality and quantity of this fluid can change. An ultrasound-guided hyaluronic acid injection (Ostenil® Plus) aims to improve joint lubrication and can help reduce pain and stiffness.
It can be particularly useful for people with mild-to-moderate osteoarthritis who are struggling with activities such as walking, climbing stairs or exercising.
Results are usually gradual, with improvement commonly developing over 2–4 weeks, and some patients experience benefits lasting six months or longer.
Arthrosamid®
For people with more significant knee osteoarthritis, Arthrosamid® offers a different approach.
It is a high-volume hydrogel injected into the knee joint under ultrasound guidance.
The hydrogel forms a layer within the joint, with the aim of reducing pain and improving function.
Arthrosamid® is designed as a longer-lasting treatment following a single injection. Arthrosamid® is specifically used for knee osteoarthritis.
We offer additional knee osteoarthritis injection options.
