This week is national picnic week! 🥪🍎🍕🥕🍓🫓🍇
Picnics can be a great opportunity to encourage healthy eating habits.
Why not encourage your child to help to prepare your picnic food with you? If your child is a fussy eater, this might help your child to try different foods.
Don’t worry about the weather… why not have an indoor picnic?
HENRY have some great recipe ideas that would be perfect for a healthy family picnic! 😊

🎒✨ School Readiness ✨🎒
Starting school is an exciting milestone for children and families. Preparing your child for this next step can help build confidence and independence.
You can support school readiness by:
🔹 Encouraging independence (dressing, toileting, handwashing)
🔹 Creating simple daily routines
🔹 Talking, reading, and listening together
🔹 Practising sharing and taking turns
Every child develops at their own pace. If you need support or advice, your 0–19 team is here to help 💙

This week is Infant Mental Health Awareness Week from Monday 8th June-Friday 12th June. We have posted each day of the week to think about small moments of connection and attunement within the caregiver-infant relationship in everyday moments.

Thanks for taking the time to join us for .
We hope you have found our posts throughout the week helpful to think about how the everyday moments of connection can really add up.

And remember, “Good enough” really is good enough. If you’re noticing, trying, and being with your baby, you’re doing a great job.

To end the week please see these helpful resources from the NSPCC’s Look, Say, Sing, Play Campaign to support caregivers to give their infants the best start to life:

Bath time gives lots of chances to tune in to your baby.
For one minute, try:
• Watching how they react
• Pausing and waiting
• Responding to their sounds and movements, maybe copying them
When you follow your baby’s lead, they feel safe and understood. You’re not just giving a bath. You’re building a relationship.

Nappy changes happen every day, but they can still be moments of connection.
Try a “1 Minute of Connection”:
• Get down to your baby’s level
• Notice what they’re looking at
• Copy their facial expressions
You’re not just changing a nappy. You’re building a relationship.

June is Men’s Mental Health Month 💬🧠
This month highlights the importance of men’s mental health- supporting all men at every stage of life.
At our 0–19 Public Health Integrated Nursing Service, we recognise how important it is for men of all ages to feel able to talk about their wellbeing. Many boys and men can find it harder to express their feelings or ask for help, which is why early support and positive role modelling are essential.
💙 Encourage open conversations with sons, partners, and children
💙 Take time to check in on your own mental wellbeing
💙 Show children that it’s okay to talk about feelings
💙 Reach out- support is available for you and your family
Let’s work together to break the stigma and support better mental health for everyone.
Its okay to not feel okay, and to reach out for support when you need it, there is always someone you can talk to:
