"We recently got back in contact with my mother with the help and support from the staff at Oaklands they made it very easy to visit, and make contact. I am very impressed with how safe and secure the home is as I have been stopped and asked questions. The staff are very friendly always willing to help and talk to me about my mothers health. The home is very clean and well maintained, they have bought her clothes and toiletries and made her room a home from home. I would definitely recommend Oaklands care home for the friendly caring staff and security"

"My dad has been much happier and settled since moving into Oakland's. He was struggling to look after himself and his home in the community. He is now managing much better with his personal health, hygiene and keeping his room tidy.
If anything could be improved it would be the clothes washing system a lot of clothes do go missing even when labelled and the laundry room does look quite chaotic.
Other than that the current staff are pleasant and helpful and do a good/ at times difficult job that is not as well recognised as it should be!"

We teamed up with Stoneygate Road and Beechlands to watch a very lovely fireworks display!
All residents enjoyed watching and playing with some sparklers, as well as the hot chocolate and cakes or cookies.

It was a lovely evening and we love getting together.

Jenna and Lauren were designated fire wardens. As you can see, they look great in their high viz and their head torches.

We created some lovely poppies in preparation for Remembrance Sunday. We discussed Remembrance Sunday as a group and explored why we observe it.

Everybody was very glitter happy with their creations, but they all helped out with the clear up at the end and displayed their masterpieces.

The residents have been feeling crafty and created some pictures of their own firework displays, ready for bonfire night...
